Don't buy cheap fish oil. They may contain a lot of heavy metal including mercury that will harm your health.
"over the past two decades, multiple randomized trials pitting fish oil against placebos show no evidence of heart-related benefits from fish oil supplements. While the supplements do provide omega-3 fatty acids, there are better ways to get these essential fats from your diet"

Just a quick FYI, If you eat the recommended servings of fish during the week, your body shouldn't need a supplement. The recommended serving is of two 4oz servings for 8oz (1/2lb total), one being of any oily fish like salmon or sardines.

If you've got a slick deal on actual fish that's $0.023 per serving, please link it.

These are pretty low in DHA and EPA if that means anything to anyone. Only 300mg. My doc wants me on 1000mg/day

Obviously this is for people who can't get those essential fats in their diet.

Why are such pills available? Because people are unable to effectively get it from diet isn't it?

Fish oil can also help some people with inflammation and joint pain; but, problem with these is they don't list EPA and DHA and only have 300mg of Omega 3, so a person would have to take 3 to 5 pills to get what they really need.
