I mean .... The Elite controllers have it at least twice as bad as cost twice as much... So..... Id rather spend $50 on junk I need than $130 on junk with extra junk.

Meanwhile, my $40 game sir controller is doing on over a year without a problem.
Been running an elite 2 core since it came out with no issues. Also gave my buddy my elite 2 I had and he has had it for a few years with no issues and I got it off eBay as a 'refurb'.
Another buddy and his elite 2 core has had zero issues. Yall just need to take care of your stuff.

Would this work with an Apple TV as a game controller? I assume not

Same. It far less prevalent than the Nintendo Joy Cons in which Nintendo would correct it for free at the expense of time. personally I just use the $40 official pro controller instead which has experience no drift stick for 2 years straight.

All in all, from what I have observed here and elsewhere, The drift stick issue is rather overblown by social media.
Not overblown at all. Old PS1 controllers were used, used the crap out of them for 10+ years, zero issues even after being doused in JuicyJuice as kids. Modern Xbox controllers getting stick drift after 13 months of casually gaming a couple hours a week and it not being covered under warranty is unreal stupid. And then replacements going up in 4 months. And 6 months after that? It's a real issue otherwise it wouldn't be anywhere online. GameSir controllers are the way forward. If the Xbox fanboys keep pretending it's not real, the quality of Xbox will fall every year until we are paying $1k USD for a system that lasts 5 months (at which point the fanboys will be saying that's it's an issue "overblown by social media and we should take care of our shit if we want it to last" etc. 🙂) Stuff should not get stick drift in 2024

For one You gotta treat it like care. No excuses. Secondly extended warranty is widely available if your experience has been "unlucky"
