I've got a Maytag in garage for 20 years and running fine way before garage ready term was made up
I bought mine only about 6 months ago but I love the beverage center and the auto filling pitcher has been fantastic. I haven't had it long enough to see if anything would fail on it but so far 0 problems.
Ice is great, water is great. I don't think this model suffers from the old ice maker issues
So far we love it, we don't have any problems with uneven cooling vs. our last one, stuff lasts a while being at the exact temp I set it. I love the wifi for the door open notification (damn kids). Given we were coming from a SxS with what looked like a much larger freezer I didn't think I would like this bottom drawer freezer, but it fits A LOT more than you would think, along with the two kinds of ice which is cool. The fridge part is huge, still adjusting to both sides being fridge after 30 years of SxSs! It is great that you can open either side of the fridge first with no problems, vs some I looked at that you HAD to open the right side first, then the left, and you had to close the left side first, or risk damaging the door(s).
I did quite a bit of research and read the horror stories with Samsung fridges, but my research seemed to indicate that recent bespoke models had the design defects addressed and people were happy with them, but I bought longer warranty just in case. I didn't really find any fridges that had the size and features that I wanted that weren't crazy expensive, that would fit a standard fridge cutout, etc. All standard consumer lines seem to have reliability issues nowadays, or it could just be online reviews makes the subset with issues more visible for brands that sell high volumes... dunno.
One thing... the stainless steel SUCKS... it gets smudgy SO FAST and it is a PITA to clean. It also scratches easily. I USED to have a bottle opener, temp/humidity sensor, and a few memes magnetically attached to the front this fridge as well as of my previous fridges, but I didn't notice until it was too late that they were scratching the crap out of the front of this one
TL;DR we bought a Samsung fridge 7 months ago, and don't regret it.
I got to set of replacement panels for $100. most replacement panels are only a few weeks or a few months old. as people replace them as soon as they buy the refrigerator.

I lived in Florida for the past 40 years and everyone I know has refrigerator or freezer in the garage as well. I can tell you most of these people I know aren't buying purpose built for the garage appliances and many are re-appropriated once a new one was bought for the kitchen.
Issue with REGULAR (non-garage ready) models are that the freezer section tend NOT to freeze during winter because the fridge section temp is low enough and compressor does not kick in often enough to keep the freezer section cold.

During winter in north, garage become cold enough - like 30 degrees or so and the fridge section becomes cold enough that compressor does not run enough to keep freezer section to close to 0 degrees so things starts to thaw. (Ice cream becomes very soft, etc.) Garage ready versions have thermostat in Freezer section as well to kick off the compressor when freezer section temp goes high.
I wouldn't even consider this given my prior experience - at any price.
