This popped up on my BCE this morning. A nice surprise for a Monday.

Note from the TOC:

Quote :
Excludes Prime memberships, auto-renew subscription services, corporate gift cards and custom-designed gift cards.
Which leads me to believe that gift cards ARE eligible. Any data points would be appreciated!

Enjoy!

Details
Get a $5 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases online at Amazon.com by 10/28/2024. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $15). See terms.

Offer Terms
Enrollment is limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid online only at US website Amazon.com and through the Amazon Shopping app. Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US. See merchant website for shipping policy. Some merchants may not ship to all areas. Excludes Prime memberships, auto-renew subscription services, corporate gift cards and custom-designed gift cards. Excludes Amazon Go, Amazon Local, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Home & Business Services, Amazon Currency Converter, Home Services, Prime Photos, Amazon Inspire, Amazon Video Direct, Amazon business, Amazon Global, or Amazon Drive. Not valid at international sites owned and/or operated by Amazon or websites affiliated with/linked to/from Amazon.com. Offer is non-transferable. Valid only on purchases made in US dollars. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $15 back) per eligible Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 10/28/2024, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been shipped/provided by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. If the Card Account is canceled or past due, it may not qualify to receive the statement credits. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are available for varying and limited periods of time and are dynamic and personalized. If you navigate away from the Amex Offers page, you may see different offers when you return. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. Update, I just received the email from Amex stating I used my offer!
Only 100 available offers are visible at a time. Keep adding some offers, and you might eventually see this offer
It takes some engineering to make this work if you already have an Amazon card and get 5-6% on every purchase.

- Not good on subscriptions - does that mean no S&S?
- Must be $50-$100 purchase to make sense ($83 if you are getting 6%). Under $50, and no AMEX bonus. Over $100/$83, and the Amazon card bonus is better.

Good deal, but takes some thinking/engineering for a maximum $7.50 gain over the Amazon card.

This promo is awkward, Amazon charges items of an order individually. To qualify for this, I will need to buy items priced of $50+.
Important to note the above ; I'd put the above info in the wiki, but see below ....

THERE IS NO WIKI allowed on this thread.
That alone is very annoying, but especially annoying to tell people to read the wiki when it's not allowed (especially when STAFF do this). Slickdeals is losing a lot of value for me with these sort of practices.

The language on this is confusing.

"Get a $5 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases online at Amazon.com by
10/28/2024. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $15)."

It says the minimum is "$50 in one or more purchases." Does that mean that two $25 purchases would qualify? If so, would a single $150 purchase qualify for all three statement credits?

Yep. The 3x $5 back on $50 in one or more Apple Pay purchases offer works the same way.

If it's like the Apple Pay offer, a single $150 purchase should trigger a $15 credit.

I have the promo in my basic Amex blue cash.

Waiting on the results from GC reload, that's my only play
Yes, Amazon charges each item separately when it ships, and it does not matter if you order them together. One needs an item that is $50+ or multiple of the same item to reach $50+ to qualify. Interesting to see if GC reload works or not.

I just did a gift card balance reload purchase for $50 as a test. I will report back if/when the credit posts. If it works, then I can just place two more gift card reload orders . Granted my net return (taking into account my prime 5% card) is like $5-$10, but hey, every bit counts!

Not sure what you mean; I don't think it works that way. The AMEX offer is cumulative and there's no way to get more than 5% out of it. ETA: Never mind, I see this is 10%.

Wait, don't you get 5% on your reloads when you use the prime card?

Not sure that matters, I believe you just don't start earning your first $5 until you hit $50 and then it adds up (little by little) from there.

That's really strange. This is the first time I've noticed a thread unable to create a WIKI. Anybody know why?
