Thousands of negative reviews speak for themselves. I've personally ordered from them three times, and two of those times I had problems. Their return policy is the worst, even when they send defective items. There are so many negative things to say about Wayfair. Plus, you can often find their items online for a cheaper price. Don't buy there!

I had great experience with Wayfair in the past. My last few orders have made me change my mind about them. I had a chair that couldn't be assembled because holes didn't line up for the bolt. I asked for an exchange, did the whole rigamarole of sending pictures, etc, printed off the shipping label, took it to a fedex facility to ship, and then they said sorry we are out of stock so we'll just refund. The refund never showed up in my account. Customer service said, "no it was refunded. We sent you an email saying that." and I agreed, i had recieved an email, just not $$$. So they just sent the email again. I had to do a charge back on my credit card to get my money.

I thought it was a fluke occurence. Bought a rug. The rug arrived and was mildewed. Smelled horrible. Went to do a return. If I say the product was damaged they wanted to allow exchange only. No way was I going through that again. I wanted to return and get my money back. So I just said I didn't like it, and just wanted to return it, no damage, even though that wasn't true. It was the only way they'd let me select the refund option. However, I had to pay a restocking fee.

I'll never buy from them again.

Yes wayfair has many issues, but buying something like this may be a safer purchase. A small item likely still in retail packaging. Not a rug or large furniture item with more chance of issues

Just an FYI for these kinds of light fixtures, I changed half of the ceiling lights in my house with nice returned ones from Amazon that looked similar to this. Anywhere from $10-$25 each, which was a huge bang for your buck.

I ordered a bunkbed from them. One of the beds had two cracked pieces so I reached out to them. They sent me a whole new bed (one of the two bunks). The crack wasnt that bad so I donated the bed.

I dont generally order from them, that may have been my second or third order from them in 10 years, but a few thousand negative reviews isnt crazy. They had $12billion in revenue last year. If the average item cost $200, that means there were 60 million orders. If there were 6k negative reviews, that is 0.01% negative reviews.

Nothing but positive experiences with wayfair here. Similar story to the bunkbed one above - wife ordered a desk - like a nice heavy solid desk - was $800 I think. Had a crack on the front. After sending pictures they sent a whole new one and told us to dispose or donate old. We gave it to a family member.

Two interior design friends order from there religiously.

This has become the norm in the last 10 years. When you had to physically go to the store to order a big ticket item, you signed an agreement, they printed a full sheet receipt with SKU number of the product and your method of payment etc. Even if you left the store with nothing in hand (if it were to be delivered) you had the paperwork.

No customer service after purchase? Your bank would back you up; cancelled payment if the company gave you a hassle. Now no more. We spend hundreds and thousands and the companies are useless, faceless jerks.

The minute we allowed retail to "send us an email" to confirm a sale, we opened the door to bullshit. Because suddenly you the customer are scrambling to find that email (among thousands of marketing junk emails) to find THE receipt and prove it they refunded or not. Complete bullsh*t. That's *the company's JOB* to get the sales agreement and the product to you with out hassle.

Sure I love not having to schlepp down to the showroom to buy something. But the agreement is that retail must honor what it advertised/ agreed to sell you. Or else the consumer had rights to sue.

Because without rights to sue, we are all screwed, and like you, end up spending 6 hours to 6 days working on a return/refund on a product that *the retailer* screwed up on.

We had US Consumer laws that stopped Big Retail from gouging consumers. We need to revive those laws.

Interesting. I've bought a bunch of stuff. One time I had an issue they sent a complete replacement. I'm sorry you've had that experience.
