The best colors are $90, only one is $70 (navy). This model is a few years old now and should be cheaper. Maybe Black Friday they will lower prices.

They are comfy but I do not like the exterior texture on the foam.

It catches dirt like crazy in all the little crevices. I'm a bit OCD and I actually stopped purchasing these due to that lol. Other shoes are easier to wipe clean. I had to basically scrub these things. Had a few colorways, the red/white were nice.

If I'm going to spend this money I'd rather just go Brooks or Asics or something else, but that's a personal preference.

If these are a few years old… What's the shelf life of boost soles?

Shoe foam deteriorates over time. Even if not used. That's why it's not really recommended to stockpile on cheap deals. It probably only really affects performance shoes and not walk around shoes. 🤔

Also, in my experience, the boost shoes are for people with small and narrow feet. 😢

What is the mechanism of deteriorating when not used? My wife is an industrial polyamide chemist and is aware of the affects of mechanical and UV degradation(mostly with aliphatics) on cross links, but not aware of any that degrade while just sitting as you claim.

I've read it degrades over time too. Yeezy's for example. Really good special foam, but turns hard after a few years.

Which ones? Thoes foam monstrosities are made from algae foam, and I know nothing about the structure.

The 'regular' Yeezy shoes are a normal EVA crosslinked polyurethane which can degrade with UV as well. As long as they don't just have an aromatic coloring in them (which would give the appearance of breaking down), are translucent and kept in the sunlight, they wouldn't degrade from sitting in a box. The materials are for the most part inert.

Oxidation occurs in the chemicals used to bleach the soles
