I watched this awhile ago and liked it, but then found out the Michael Oher (the football player) disputes the version of events portrayed in the film.

I liked it too, but obviously movies aren't ever exactly like real life. No matter if it says 'based on a true story' at the start or not.
Not only did the Tuohy family fabricate this entire narrative, they used their dubiously acquired legal authority to sign deals in Oher's name and enrich themselves and their children with the movies profits while Oher got nothing. The facts are well documented and there are plenty of salacious details available. The Tuohys are scumbags.
