I have magenta max. I see the new Go5G plans and the "plus" seems to be equivalent features but $40 more/month!

Why would anyone upgrade to that plan?

When did tmo become so expensive?

I am sooooo sick of hearing these rants. You had a chance of jumping to a better plan years ago. But you were so stubborn to stay with your so-called great SC plans that you hung on and now you are beetching and moaning. TMO has given so many great opportunities for great deals on their services but you stood still. I was one of the later to jump from SC and I still managed 9 lines for $116 on Go5g Plus. This will at least get me $800 deal and a new iPhone 16 (I have no need for pro or max). I know people with 9+ lines paying less than $100. Cry me a river.
What were those opportunities and why did TMobile give them as chances instead of directly moving us into it if it was better for us? You are making baseless claims

Is the credit tied to the device? I have a personal T-Mobile account and a work T-Mobile account. If I purchase this on the work T-Mobile account, can I just swap the device with my personal Magenta plan? In the past I could just do this with a SIM card swap but I don't know how it works nowadays with eSIM.

That's because with Go5G Plus plan, you get to upgrade every two years.
You need to wait 2 year to become upgrade free iphone.

But Go5G next, you can upgrade every year.
So, next year you can upgrade for free if you have Go5g Plus plan.
As well as Go5g Next.
Obviously, old plan no free phone + no Apple TV plus + No hulu + free International 5G data
and more.
So 4 lines Go5G next is $225/month - $164 credit = $61/month for 4 lines?

No idea how you got Go5G plus for 9 lines for $115.. That's really too good to be true...

I would consider this but there's a huge problem. T-mobile locks the phone from other SIMs (even other International e-Sims) which makes a device on a payment plan useless for international travel.
Useless for international travel? Big Grin T-mobile has free data all over the world. Don't your friends have facetime?

2 paid a+ 7 free lines + autopay. If you have insider it's even less.

T-Mobile has offered 10+ free lines since 2016, in limited-time offers, some for as little as one day. People who took advantage of this have hooked up plans like the one you're replying to.

The word Apple and the word nerd should never be together. The phone is as basic as it gets, nothing to nerd about.

is it 3 months locked or forever?
Recently, the phone is locked until paid off. I has to pay the full amount on my way to airport to get it unlocked before my flight. In the past u can unlock after few months

Well, Apple wouldn't think that all new computers will have the ancient "Floppy Disk Drive" , so why would they put the SIM slot back?
How many times have you needed to switch your sim? You can also get an eSim when traveling now too. IDK what the big deal is.

Isn't this the entire point of their Go5G plan? Trading in for a new phone every year by paying for an overpriced plan. This isn't a deal. Stop posting this shit.

Check with customer service or t force if you have any kind of discount. Online doesn't show correct amount to upgrade. Usually it is $5 per paid line to go from max to plus and is worth in my opinion.

Yeah that won't be a problem. I have work get me the new iPhone every year, I put my personal sim on it and keep my work sim on an old personal phone. They can see if doing an audit that the sim is in another device but they don't care so long as I turn in the phone. (Both on t mobile)
