Sam's Club should be more aggressive against Costco, Costco customer service isn't all that good anymore but the competition like Sam's is weak.

Just FYI comment, not to say anything negative about OP's post. I have the plus membership to grab quick things before work so it is very convenient with their early store hours.

Local Sam's club have not had replacement cards (both kinds) for over a month now. Customer service don't know when new replacement cards will "arrive" and cannot mail a new card.

Taking a guess: Sam's club wants members to use the app to enter the store.
Oh no, digital convenience as opposed to a physical card I could lose, how terrible... Smh

I switched to Costco last year and never bothered with Sam's Club again. I got some decent stuff for cheap from Sam's Club while I was a member but there wasn't anything there that I couldn't find a better version of at Costco. Their cafeteria foods are terrible, their meats and produce are inferior quality and most of their sales are comparable to every day Amazon prices. Not to mention the store quality is just fancy Walmart. Walmarts in Florida are already a good place to die, get robbed or assaulted, Sam's Club gives that same feeling except you'll get to eat an unseasoned rotisserie chicken while you bleed out in the parking lot.

My point is, I would pass on this unless Sam's Club is the ONLY option for warehouse shopping around you and invest that money into literally anything else; Costco, BJ's, Amazon Prime, etc.
We have both costco and sam's club because sams club is much closer and costoc was complimentary from a bank account.

The best thing of Sam's Club... use the app and you don't need to get in line to register or cafe. All can be done from the app, the only line is to go out where they have to scan your QR code in the app. Costco always have horrible lines, it's like shopping in last decade.
And Sam's Club frozen yogult with berries is $1 cheaper than Costco.

2% cash back is good but only if you shop there a lot. Plus members can also enter earlier.
Overall, once costco came into my area, I dropped sams plus, not worth it any longer
You need to try harder then. Just paid $24 OOP for my Plus membership. I'll make that back in no time just from the meat department.

If you go through Swagbucks, they currently have a 50% rebate on memberships. I got my Plus membership for $25 after rebate ($24 after daily 2nd goal met). Pends for 30 days.

Using the app is what makes Sams Club worthwhile, you just scan your items and walk out. It doesn't really matter how many people are in the store as long as I don't have to wait in line. I wish Walmart would allow that with their plus membership, but you still have to go to a checkout when you use theirs, which defeats the purpose.
I like the Scan & Go feature but at mine you still get stuck in line to leave where they scan your code and then some random items from your cart (I guess as a control). Does every Sam's not do that?

Good for you, ever since costco cam into my area, the quality and even the volume of merchandise stocked at my sams has diminished greatly. There are times I go to sams now and the shelves can be 1/4 to 1/3 empty, including the meat dept

I've canceled both sams and costco memberships, and gotten walmart+. They have killed their online presence, intentionally. And if you think Sams is 'all digital', try buying gas. Ramming your phone into the slot isn't going to help you.

I'm excited about free home delivery for plus members for $50+ orders. I never have to step foot in their parking lot (even for curbside pickup orders) for weekly basics like milk, yogurt, bread, cheese, fruits, veggies, etc. Ofcourse it is awful I can't order a $6 almond butter with free shipping when I'm running low, or snag a cheap clearance item with free shipping. But the convenience of free grocery deliveries at the same price as in-club....now take that Costco!
Are they delivered by some crackhead in a roach filled car?

Mine does, but they do that for everyone no matter what and I'd rather not wait in line to have my items rung up. I'll say at my Sam's they're pretty fast though so it's never more than a few seconds of waiting.

Have the Plus membership and was excited to try the free delivery with 50+ order. Never again. The delivery was timely but left at the wrong address (next door neighbor), no identifying label AND missing an item (which couldn't have been picked up by anyone as I went outside as soon as I got the delivery notification). Such a bad experience. Got my money refunded but not inclined to use this service again as of now.

Oh no. That is awful. I just had my delivery yesterday (from my almost expiring plus membership). It went smoothly. I got timely updates. All items arrived properly and were left on my front porch during the selected time window. I hope yours was a one-off experience.

Even the best services make mistakes. Did you add a tip for the driver? Was it a hassle to get a refund?

Looking at my history, I've had 8 local deliveries this year with zero issues. With the new policy of no longer charging $8 fee for orders under $50, I rarely need to set foot in a store. My main concern is trying to get Plus at a discount. They seem to have made it more difficult to reuse previous accounts.

Costco had scan and go about 10+ years ago in some warehouses. It was a handheld scanner you checked out when you walked in. You were supposed to use the scanner as you put items in your cart. Then when you went to check out you would dock the scanner at a scan and go station, It would show you the amount due and a casher would do a quick check of the cart and your items scanned before you paid for it all. It worked well for folks who followed the instructions but for some reasons not many customers understood or followed the rules.
