check you local yamaha dealer before buying. They can likely beat the price on all ebikes. i purchased the morrow 7 new for 500 less the online.

Purchased second one today. price went up slightly below is my invoice. price was 2247 (morrow 7) out the door.
For those thinking about getting an ebike but worried about not getting enough exercise, remember this: sitting on the couch thinking about riding your analog bike burns no calories. Riding your ebike because it's fun and you don't have to stress about a hateful hill climb or running out of energy far from home burns a lot more calories!
Apparently it's Yamaha ebike week on SD

Coming from 11sp Ultegra DI and 12sp XTR, how is this 11sp GRX? Is it like 105 or Ultegra?

Possible to swap my Ultegra or XTR groupset over?
Above post from drzk described almost exactly described. My road bike is bulls bike (German brand), all ultegra and aluminum frame. Race oriented bike.
Gear shifting was a little surprising during brief testing. My ultegra still shift like butter but bit noisy and was not crisp shift. Probably I will do one more turn up by myself. I still have 3x 9 speed XT/XTR mountain bike and it also shift like butter…
Also my folding ebike has Alivio 7 speed. GRX is better but not XT/ultegra quality. Maybe GRX 800 might be better or sram…. But it's ebike so I think I can live with it… someone said before I prefer narrow dropbar even 38mm…. I should stop thinking of habit of improvement hahahaha.

i ride Topstone 105. i couldn't test drive yet. how do you compare the ride quality to typical bikes from well known brands?
I only road 10 mins to test today and my subdivision is rarely new so have good pavement so hard to say riding quality but it was not bad. I have racing oriented road bike so riding position is definitely comfortable and uphill riding was decent without motor assistance.

Not everyone can appreciate the different between105 vs Ultegra vs DuraAce, mostly pple go higher for weight saving, which has little impact % to a 46lbs bike. My wife rides 20lbs road and MTB, hope she can manage something that weight twice as much

Likewise I just rode a Wabash RT today for the first time. Coming from a freak light carbon road, wow it's a chunk of weight. Wow the drivetrain isn't quiet and butter smooth. My analog Motobecane gravel 2x11 (read cheap) is smooth compared to this. I'm a bit disappointed in how not smooth the overall ride quality is. That said, the e-assist is omfg good. But that I'd probably say for any e-assist, I don't know, this is my first. I have nothing but circling the neighborhood so far. It'll take weeks of riding for a final opinion.

To do:
1, the rear der needs a little tuning
2, the chain lube is a heavy oil. Brake cleaner, then wax lube to change
3, another set of rims with road tires to see what that does. Some work since the rear hub speed magnet setup needs to be xferred/2nd bought (else assist won't work), potentially with a little grinding on the new wheel's center lock rotor ring.
It feels heavy if you from carbon bike. My aluminum road bike is about 17lbs and when I measured weight today, it was 46.8lbs then my weight obsession habit started hahaha. Quick scanned and wheel, saddle, handlebars and targeting 40lbs or slightly sub 40lbs then I can see so much $$$ signs hahaha then thinking "just ride it"…
I did not have any plan to upgrade anything but well…….
I will replace saddle, stock pedal, clean chain and lube the chain then probably doing derailleur adjustment.
I can feel the weight but when I go downhill much more stable feeling from heavy weight though haha. At least I can climb decent uphill without motor assistance so it's not bad thing.

BTW, when I got my road bike about 7 years ago, 105 was not that refined yet but last a few years, 105 is as good as ultegra/dura ace minus weight so I always thought if I get new bike, I will go with 105 instead of ultegra or dura-ace. I already step-into ebike world so weight of bike and fancy components are not necessary and I don't race with this bike hahaha.

As soon as this bike is rolling, I don't find weight issue. Actually hub motor e-bikes have big difference because all hub motors have resistance if there is no motor assistance. My folding bike is hub motor bike so if I turn off the motor, I can feel all the weight of bike (about 40lbs) plus motor resistance. That's why I rode 10mins without motor power today. Even I can climb decent uphill without too much issues. As I said before, I am short with short leg so when I land my feet, I have to land sideway so that's only issue for me but I have same issues with most of bike so it's nothing new.

I read that there isn't walk assist mode, is it necessary for a mid drive motor?

Ordered on Friday and got the email notification today that it is shipped to the dealer I selected. Anyone else ordered in WA too?

I ordered mid-day Thursday on the Yamaha site and got my shipping email tonight as well 🥳

The Ultegra rear derailleur won't accommodate the 11-42 cassette. XTR is not drop bar. I'd wait for GRX Di2 12sp 1x which Shimano has not even announced yet. Routing the di2 wiring into a non-dropper seatpost would be challenging. I haven't looked into SRAM options.

Page 48 of the user manual shows a walk-assist switch.

After talking to dealers in my area, I believe the ones who are getting discounts more than the advertised price are living in states with ebike rebates. I think you guys are getting the instant rebate rather than applying for one which is awesome!!!!!!!! Unfortunately my state does not. Oh well, Still a great discount so I bought the moro 07.

go to Velofix.com and see if this company is in your area. they do free delivery+no tax when purchasing a bicycle through them. luckily their mobile service is near where i live so bought the moro 07 without paying taxes + free shipping/assembly. Along with that they provide you with free service for a limited time so double the coverage along with what yamaha is offering.

Looks like where in live in WA Velofix.com has the Wabash with no tax. Do you think it's worth cancelling the already shipped order I made through official website and make a new one with Velofix, saving the tax?

True, I have one NIB I never put into use.
I hope to see the benefits of the clutch on the GRX RD.

I'm sad, I ordered direct from Yamaha on 9/9/24 got the email confirmation right away with the cost and order number, but as of today 9/17/24 heard nothing. I called Yamaha asked if my order was canceled, they said it's not canceled and was told they are backlogged processing orders. Called the local dealer it's supposed to be shipped to and he said he has my order with 200+ orders to his dealership and Yamaha is contacting him with 2 orders a day that are being shipped. The only thing I can do is wait for the email it was shipped and watch my credit card account when it's billed.
I am sooo jealous you guys are getting your orders shipped in a few days and it's been 8 days for me hearing nothing!
I would like to know if I'm getting it or not so I can order a different brand of bike - Velotric Summit 1 with a superior hub motor and $100 off and free battery - I don't want to order another one now if the Yamaha shows up and is stuck with 2 bikes !
