Just a heads up on this drive. This is functionally identical to other Gen 4 NVMe SSDs that use the MaxioTech MP1602A Falcon Lite controller with a Dram-less design, like the Teamgroup MP44 or the Lexar NM790 and uses a YMTC TLC NAND flash. They are generally reliable and have a very fast r/w speed at about 7k/6.5k making them a great choice for gamers but not so much for productivity or content creators as the sustained speeds when copying large files are not great on these drives. At $95, this is a pretty good deal though IMO.
This is the first comment I have seen in SSD storage drive that is actually useful. Thank you.
Finally a useful comment where someone understands the use cases of DRAM and DRAM-less...and when it doesn't matter. Too many people on SD act like the only thing they're doing is making 4-hour 8K videos when in reality what they do is play minesweeper.

Ps5 doesn't support hmb. So this will be slower than a drive that has dram in a PS5.

I enjoyed the sentence where it said this is equipped with "flash memory particles".

I've only ever bought a handful of USB 3.0 external enclosures from this brand, and 2 out of the 5 failed after using them to move files onto a backup drive—one completely unrecognizable and the other's read/write speed dropped under 5MB/s no matter what I did with it (big files, little files, copy, move, etc). The others continued to work fine so far as I know, but the experience made me cautious about ORICO. If the drive works and performs as it should though, this seems like a solid deal for putting into a PS5.

Best price I ever saw for a 4TB NVMe SSD drive. I had good luck with 2 ORICO ext enclosures I got over the years but I don't know how good their SSD drives are. I don't have any NVMe slots left in my PC so I'd have to get an adapter like this one [amazon.com] I can plug into a PCIe X8 slot (which I'd consider doing if I could get 2 of these NVMe drives). My goal is to get rid of my old 12TB Seagate spinner that slows my whole system down (I have about 5 SSD drives connected).

That would be a "best price" for a 4TB drive but this is a 2TB drive.

Walmart has the Western Digital 2TB WD Blue SN5000 NVMe Internal Solid State Drive - WDS200T4B0E for $78.38

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Wester...7982174680

Be aware, it's a third party seller and the only two reviewers said they actually received the 500 GB version instead. However, the model and part number listed are for the 2 TB. I took a chance and will find out Tuesday when it arrives. Easy return to store if not legit.

Not as fast, but a good storage drive:

Sequential Read Performance
5,150MB/s
Sequential Write Performance
4,850MB/s
Random Read
650K IOPS
Random Write
770K IOPS
Interface
PCIe Gen4 x4
Warranty
5-Year Limited Warranty

Thanks. Looks like a listing error and I am tempted to test my luck but I really don't want to go to a Walmart store and explain why I'm returning a 500gb instead of a 2tb. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
