Also, I do not recommend dismantling to be able to wash the seat items. It is so tough to get off, the wash will destroy it a bit, and it is almost impossible to get the stuff back on. So if anyone buys used, I suggest making sure it's not terribly dirty. My kid never vomited or pooped on our stroller. Despite tons of use including muddy trails, the new stroller stayed fairly clean for a long time.
I highly recommend the v2 stroller. It was easily the most expensive baby purchase I made, but it was so worth it. The wheels are so heavy duty that they work fine over tons of rough terrain, including bark, rocks, soft sand, large tree roots, etc. The sun shade comes nice and far down. The basket below holds a ton (biggest difference I've seen from other similar strollers that aren't as costly). It's very easy to use. I don't know what the differences are going to be for the v3, but I'd say I had no complaints with the v2, so I'd go for this one vs waiting for v3.
I love that it has the option to be either a single stroller or turn into a double stroller if needed in the future. That said, the first child was tough enough, by the time I have a second my first definitely won't be in a stroller anymore.

So don't buy an older version? And don't buy a dirty one?
It is pretty easy to tell which is a V2 model and to tell whether they are dirty. Lots of baby gear resellers like goodbuygear that give you accurate condition assessments (and tell you if it is v1/v2/v3) and if buying locally off marketplace/craigslist you can inspect in person.
Did you find it OK to travel with? It is such a big stroller...seems like if you were buying a second stroller it would make more sense to buy a travel stroller like the Minu

The used one I got was still a v2 model, not the v1. I vaguely remember it was somewhere between 5-10 years old. So it was far from new, but also wasn't an ancient v1. Uppababy has made updates to strollers within the v2 timeframe. For example they changed some stuff on the v2 for 2020 releases and later (longer footrest, longer backrest, etc). my recommendation would be for people to take advantage of these good deals now (see the even better deal some above mentioned) rather than buy used or wait for a v3. These prices are certainly waaay better than what I paid a few years ago.

As far as traveling, I did end up bringing my big new vista 2. I put it in a travel bag and luckily it made it through the flights without any damage. I haven't used the minu, but I don't regret bringing the big stroller traveling. It was very convenient to have the big storage area below which meant we could pack everything we needed in the stroller and minimize trips back to the hotel room. My kid wasn't the best napper at the time, so he probably wouldn't have napped in an umbrella stiller, but he napped fine in the vista since it leans pretty far back and the shade can be pulled pretty far down. The big stroller also made the airport situation easy and then I just gate checked the stroller. We even traveled on a later trip with a wagon instead of a stroller (not all airlines let you do that), which was even bigger and even more convenient because you can throw luggage in it too and then gate check it.
