The metal plate will probably make the mechanical keyboard even louder. That's my experience with various brands. The metal plate's advantage is a stronger or more sturdy keyboard.

My latest of the Keychron's is a Q5, and it's my favorite! It's blue with blue switches. This keyboard is HEAVY, but it only adds to overall quality feel of the construction. I prefer the blue switches, over the red and brown. It has a fairly short travel and a satisfying "click" when pressed.

I had a Q6 a few months ago ($215), the build quality was very nice - heavy frame and silky smooth keys. Unfortunately, within a few weeks of fairly light use, several of the keys developed chattering (multiple actuations for a single keypress). Probably just a dud, but it was too expensive to bother swapping switches, so back it went. Would still recommend these keyboards in general as they are fairly well regarded.
