Agreed.

Any tricks to make this cheaper? Like can we get Steam cards at 10% off anywhere and use them for this?

… it's a $300 handheld that needs to balance resolution, refresh rate, and battery life. Not a $2K desktop for you to run Fortnite at 300 FPS.

Show me the S21 running the new God of War, or Last of Us, or Cyberpunk 2077 like the Steam Deck can.

Well for me, everything ran smooth with no lag or stuttering. The graphics were great too.
Guess how many frames per second the S21 runs the game at since that's what you were complaining about? 30 fps average, if it's not throttling. Then it drops to 15-20 fps.

the android version of Genshin is objectively the worst version of genshin to run barring the base PS4.

Apple has exclusivity over 120hz refresh rate feature and is the only mobile platform with official controller support. the PS5 is the only platform with enhanced textures. PC opens up the settings options, has the least compressed assets, allows you to super sample render resolution, unofficially mod and has controller support.

basically android lacks all of the above because of exclusively deals.

the platforms do not even remotely run the game "equally"

You can buy a Refurb. I had no luck with steam gift cards when I bought mine.

In case anyone is interested I have played Horizon Zero Dawn, Elden Ring, Enshrouded, and Armored Core VI on my deck. The performance has been great. Some frame drop in massive explosive scenes in ACVI (such as when you blow up the strider) but otherwise amazing.

Super happy with this device. I bought a 64gb and easily swapped in a 1TB drive within a week

I have Mario Kart 64, my wife's favorite sega games, and Breath of the Wild emulated onto it as well. Really an awesome device.

I posted a deal for a 1TB SSD at some point for $50-60 for deck. Hasn't let me down yet.

Amex Offers has a spend $750 in Amex GC, get $50 credit back. There are prom codes abound to knock off the fee. So that is 6.6% off, plus if you use 2-4% cash back card, means 8.6-10.6% off. Then use that GC to buy this.

If you want a handheld now, then get it. But I rather wait for the oled model between the two. The lcd screen on this is not great at all. (but what do you expect for sub 400?)

Been eyeing one for a couple of weeks now, this sale came at a perfect time. Was hoping a 64gb refurbished would become available, but for a bit extra, couldnt pass up the 512gb. Thanks for sharing!

The battery life improvements of the Steam Deck OLED tempts me. Unfortunately, I get headaches with OLED so I need to stick to LCD.

Wouldn't be a big leap in performance. Makes more sense to wait a few years. Even these newer windows handhelds have bad battery and underwhelming power.
