Too many hurdles than the prepaid version Walmart offers from time to time. No credit check, no verizon account needed, pay $99 and wait 60 days.
Anyone tried to use the h20 unlock method for the prepaid phones

Did you call from a non-Verizon number? Somehow it's not allowing me to go past saying you don't have a Verizon number.
Yes I did call from non-Verizon number.

I followed the same instructions in this thread. Except that IVR didn't give me the option to pay off instead it connected me with an agent.

I told the agent that I'm looking to upgrade the device and would like to pay off. He allowed me to pay off and asked me regarding the upgrade options. I told him I haven't decided on the upgrade options yet, but just getting ready for that. He sent me a link to make a $99 payment with CC. Everything went smoothly and I got an email that the device payment buyout was completed.

Noob question. Is this the cheapest iPhone that supports air tag's precision finding option? (That is the only reason I am looking for an iPhone, as cheap as I can get an (eventually) unlocked one)
Not compatible with UWB. It's means air tags are not be supported fully

Do you cancel verizon service first , then attempt h20 unlock ? Or put in h20 sim while verizon service is still active ?

Yeah , looks like just asking the agent to pay off device is not working. They tell you can't pay off until 30 days. However asking the agent to pay off because you want to upgrade is working.

Thanks. Finally I was able to pay off using one of the 800 numbers. For some weird reason, it didn't allow me to directly call on that number from my phone. I logged into the web account and chose to contact them and clicked the number from my online account and it worked this time. I was able to pay it off through the automated system and got a buyout email. Then I canceled the service through chat option. Now waiting for phone tomorrow to arrive and will try to do AT&T unlock trick.

I failed to unlock this Verizon phone.

Here are the steps I took.

Monday Night, phone purchased on Walmart.

Tuesday Morning, Verizon email came and signed up. I immediately called support and paid off the device via human agent.

Wednesday morning, the phone came. Checked via SickW and the phone shows as 2387 - US Verizon Locked Policy

I still went to target and purchased the H2O sim kit for $1

Came home, and chatted with an online agent to terminate the service immediately. The agent confirmed termination. I logged in to Verizon and it shows no lines active.

Now, I opened the iPhone and inserted the H2O sim before turning it on, it shows SOS on the top left. I did not go through the phone setup nor connect it to the WIFI, it is still at the language selection screen.

I went to ATT unlock, submitted the request, and ATT email shows :

Heads up! We can't complete your unlock request.

The IMEI number you gave us doesn't match an AT&T device

The IMEI did show up on my Verizon's device list before the service disconnect.

At this point, what can I do to unlock this? Will this still unlock in 60 days even when Verizon service is disconnected / no longer active?

Even I have the same policy. Let me check tomorrow once I receive my device to see if the AT&T trick works.

Does this deal work with the 256 GB or 128 GB as well?

Same I also failed to unlock the device using H2O SIM.

Mine says "Check 4000 - US Reseller Flex Policy" on sickw.

AT&T denied the unlock request: "The IMEI number you gave us doesn't match an AT&T device"

After successfully completing all the steps of cancelling the line and getting it unlocked, I got the final bill from Verizon for about $40. What is the best way to get the activation fee removed from this bill? Is there a way to do this online?
