Wouldn't judge an entire brand on one shoe. I'm sure all brands have a shoe that may make anyone feel uncomfortable. Asics is widely known as the best shoe for achilles / plantar support.
Literally ALL their shoes on Amazon are 4.5 to 5.0 stars overall, with thousands of reviews. I'm sure I can read all of the 1-star reviews on ANY shoe brand and come to a very negative conclusion. FYI I've worn Asics for well over 10 years due to achilles issues wearing Nike, as a recommendation from multiple foot doctors, and they fixed the problem almost immediately. Never looked back. They last me about 6 months or so, and that includes wearing them 24/7, incl running/exercising, except when sleeping.
Wrong, they make the most comfortable running shoes even compared to Hokka

I will avoid ASCIS. I tried one of their shoes. They make the most uncomfortable shoes.

Just read the 1-star reviews on all their shoes. I can assure you there are others complaining how uncomfortable the shoes are in every one of the brand's shoes. There are people also complaining how cheaply made the shoes are and how quickly the soles wear out.

Which one did you try that you based your review of the entire ASICS line on?The one you bought for $29.95?

No, the one I bought for $59.95: https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/ge...5-003.html
Everyone has a different foot and walking pattern. One brand/type of shoe may suit you better than the next person. I'd suggest going to a running shoe store and get fitted/measured. They'll be able to suggest some shoes and hopefully you can find out what's best for you. I've ran mostly in Nikes my whole life, but recently got fitted and bought some ASICS nimbus and it's been a game changer for me. I'd recommend getting fitted and then shopping for shoes.

There's a 1-star review on every pair of shoes out there. By this line of logic, probably better off going barefoot.

Went to dicks sporting goods store, tried out pretty much all main shoes, asics kayano/nimbus was most comfy, followed by brooks glycerin while the others brands/ shoes were noticeably worse
That was few years ago, but every asics kayano/nimbus that i tried over the years were always the best as far as comfort, support,
Adidas were always the worst, in fact so bad that I don't even consider Adidas no matter the cost

All shoes are different. Depends on your running style. I've Boston and kayano, some other very good ones. I love my old kayano. Nothing compares to gel feeling. Run at least 5 miles and disagree with me.
Remember every good running shoes needs break-in!! Boston was feeling like sh@t first 50 miles, than one love.
