For their size, they absorb water amazingly well actually - I tried out of curiosity and one took two shot glasses full to the brim with water..

The thing I don't love about them is that when they dry, they're kind of like a thin dried sponge - stiff/rigid, so they're not exactly the greatest to use for random cleanup without going through the process of wetting them & wringing them out first

Mrs. Swede always brings back a few packages of these every time we go to Sweden. "Dishcloth" is a terrible name of these. They are really just paper towel replacements. We use them for a few days to wipe up messes on the stove/counter (rinsing under water after every use, of course) then toss them in the dishwasher.

Exactly my experience but I like them to wipe water around sink or clean up cooktop after cooking. Random little cleanup around kitchen. I like them over large kitchen towels or paper towel.

Different composition though- the Amazon version in your link is only 30% cotton.

I bought the "original" ones (made in Sweden, allegedly) from Amazon before. These are not "dish cloth", they are very thin sponges. When they get wet, they don't dry very fast and then after drying they become very stiff and retain the shape. E.g. if you hang them to dry over the oven handle, they will end up U-shaped. They soften again after contact with moisture but it makes them rather finicky to use and store. Definitely do not recommend these "cloth" if you live in hot and humid US South. They get stinky very fast.

I wouldn't use them for washing dishes because they're too big for that, become dirty fast and don't rinse out easily. I use a scrubber sponge from a dollar store for that and it works very well.

Between a scrubber brush, paper towels for extra messy/stinky stuff and a "bar mop" (small towel), I honestly don't understand what niche this product is trying to fill. These are just not good at any particular job, other than maybe polishing that someone mentioned. I suspect these are result of clever marketing.

Didnt like these at first, but once I used them a while, I love them. They replace the clean up dish rag in the sink and are great to wet, wring out, and wipe up anything. More like a small chamois than anything else, and these colors/patterns are a plus...

These look like a completely different product. What you linked is a dish scrubber to replace those sponges with the scrubby side. The OP product is meant to replace a paper towel/the side of the sponge for wiping. The Korean sponges specifically point out the non-absorbency as a feature to prevent mold growth. This is a great feature for a -scrubbing- product. If this is meant to address the statement poor absorbency of the product in OP (which seems to be all over the place), the product you linked is specifically designed to do it have -no- absorbency. In short, the OP product is meant for wiping and clean up, what you linked is meant to scrub. Completely different use cases. I really like my microwave. I'm not going to post about it in a toaster oven thread. What you posted definitely looks like a really good scrubber. Ours always get a strong smell if we don't boil them every so often.

I haven't used these from Costco specifically, but I like using the ones I have for wiping down dusty surfaces (in particular, the dryer when I'm cleaning out the lint trap).

In the past I've used small hand towels, but the "dishcloths" are easier to wring out and get back to an acceptable level of dampness vs a towel that actually needs time to dry if it's been run under water to clean off the dust it just picked up.
