I bought this a couple of months ago for $300 from Costco. it's a decent panel, but not the same as the ultrafine line. LG has just slapped that name on a lower grade panel and is selling it for less to boost sales.

Also, LG software sucks. The monitor consistently fails to detect new connection. I have to fiddle with the connection every morning for it to recognize that it has an incoming signal.

Specifications suggest possibly no VESA mounting. Might be important for some people.

the panels are not the same. yes the stand is better but the ultrafine name also indicates a higher quality panel
I picked a 2nd 880 up last time it was on sale. It was $400 + tax, so around $425 delivered. It did take several quantities to get one that had good uniformity. I suppose at this price point they're a crap shoot and not binned very well. Out of 4 ordered, 2 were good.

The 2nd monitor is for a laptop which is rarely used so long term will probably be a spare for when the main one craps.

I've used the USB C PD with success, but not long term. The usb c cable seems fragile so rather have hdmi plugged into the laptop.

I went to the store and inspected the back of the unit. It looked like it could be VESA mounted. I have a dual monitor setup at home so I bought 2 and went home o try it out.

I was able to successfully mount it with no issue. It looks like its the 100mm size to me.

Either way its Costco so returns are simple.

I bought a couple of these earlier this year, and the image quality was different when compared side by side, even though they were the same model. I probably got the bad one, but one was brighter, and the other was so dim. I tried all the settings, but they didn't work, so I ended up returning both.

I was debating between this and the INNOCN 32" 4k - 32C1U, I linked it earlier but think I got blocked due to link.

Thoughts on this LG vs INNOCN? LG obviously has better Costco warranty, but can't think of anything else. Both should have VESA Mounting.

Have you ever heard of INNOCN? No. Why buy random Chinese crap at the same price?

I have heard of INNOCN, the heck? You're gonna be real surprised what's made in China and/or rebranded China products 😭

There's just no way that an INNOCN product is on the same level as an LG one. This is a no-brainer decision.

its actually better, I have a INNOCN 4k oled panel and they use Joled while the lg pretty much uses the worst oled on the market.

LG sell their IPS, OLED and VA panels. INNOCN most likely uses mostly LG panels.

LG retains the A+ panels, or charge an upcost for A+ panels.
IIRC Samsung panels are rarely used for TV and Monitors for some reason. Used a ton on mobile phones though.

rtings [rtings.com] seemed reasonably positive on the 27" version of this 3-4 years ago.

There are always million variations with the panels and it's confusing how the manufacturer markets it. For me in 2024, a good general purpose monitor is a 4k, 60hz, IPS with HDR and has USB-C. If it has then I check the rtings rating and then decide. I have made my fair share of mistakes getting some monitors just because it's cheap and then I ended up selling it for even more loss.
