i used to buy these, then i realized after a couple of years, that I could have saved hundreds by buying dried brown rice and using a fuzzy logic rice cooker. I've since done that.

Same. Once you get the hang of rice cooker rice it comes out great every time. It can also sit for hours waiting for you to be ready for it. We love jasmine in the rice cooker. Sometimes we sub chicken or beef broth for the water. Sometimes add minced garlic, or use flavored butter, or lot of herbs in the water as it cooks. We used to buy these bags all the time but the rice we make now is so much better and a fraction of the price.

I thought of replacing water with broth before, but haven't done it yet.. got to try it now.. as well as the herb butter and garlic thing...
