Non-owners always have a LOT to say about these – and believe me, I get it, I swore up and down I never wanted or needed one of these things. I got one as a gift two years ago and I would unequivocally say I would buy myself one now and have given a few as gifts. They just WORK and are perfect for a slow coffee drinker, like myself. For the record, I only opened the app once, I don't need to futz with temps after one setting.

My main tip, though: do not waste your time/money/coffee on anything less than the 14 ounce, the 10 ounce is just TOO little.

In my experience the warranty isn't the best. Have the Mug2 and lid broke when I pressed it in after a few months. Had to practically beg for them to do a one time exception and send me a replacement after sending pictures and videos of broken lid. Still had receipt and within 1 year of ownership.

The Gen 2 has a button on the bottom, you hold it down and it turns off.
Pro tip for my ember fam, buy a small pack of rubber coated baby spoons to stir your coffee.
Never use a regular spoon as it will chip the coating.

Luxury item not really worth it imo. Could just purchase a 10oz tumbler and save energy

My Woot RefurbTravel Mug 2 fails to heat off the charging plate, and tapping on the Ember logo works 25% of the time, so I need to return it, but the return page says if product has a lithium battery I have to contact customer support. Why? Another pain ordering from Woot. FYI all 6 of my regular price Ember Mugs are stilling working, except for the one my son-in-law microwaved.

Tested both 10z and 14oz and they lasted 70 min and 60min, respectively. 20 minutes less than they're both rated for.

Got my replacement mug 2 14oz delivered today and this one works perfectly. Using it, till "charge your mug" alert, was 85 minutes. Still showed 5% remaining as well. So perfect battery life.

At what temperature do you have yours set for?

I'm only getting 60 minutes at 140 degrees in the 14 oz

135F for both. 60 min on the 14oz is what I'm seeing as well. I'm sorry for the confusion. I noticed I accidentally swapped my numbers.

Seems to be consistent so this may be normal with their "up to 80 minutes" rating being best case/exaggerated scenarios.

My first one was defective…wouldn't heat at all. Woot replaced it, and I got a good one this time.

The app gave me a charge now alert, and the battery still said 5%.

I received mine today, looks like new. Not sure is brand new come with any wrapping or plastic, but mine was just covered between two hard shell plastic covers around it. Charged ok to 100%

I paired it with my android and couldn't update the software, so I used a spare iphone with the Ember app and updated fine. Then it wouldn't connect to my android. Had to reset the mug and connect it all over again to my android. No idea what the update does.

Going to try it out later this morning with my coffee.

Got my 14 oz Smart Mug 2 a couple days ago.
Downsides: Battery life is 80% and the app does not play well with new android phones.
The 80% is less than idea but my use case will have it sitting on it's charger 90% of the time anyway so it's not going to effect me. I resolved the app issue by using my old phone to install the app. I was able to update the firmware with no issues on my old phone. I will also not be using the app with any regularity. I set my temp to 'coffee' which I think was 134 degrees and it's about perfect for me.
One other thing I noticed with this mug is that when I pour milk into my coffee or tea, it goes right to the bottom. Most of my other coffee mugs will 'mix' when I pour in the milk. I have to actually stir my drink in this mug since it has no lid to slosh it around to mix.
I got busy with a project this morning and didn't touch my morning tea for almost 2 hours and it was still the perfect temp. Absolutely worth the reduced price IMO.
