My main tip, though: do not waste your time/money/coffee on anything less than the 14 ounce, the 10 ounce is just TOO little.
Pro tip for my ember fam, buy a small pack of rubber coated baby spoons to stir your coffee.
Never use a regular spoon as it will chip the coating.

I was testing an Ember 16-Oz Smart Tumbler Mug that i got today and it took about 45m to an hour at least to get it up to 145F. I thought it would be more like an electric tea kettle and be more immediate heat.
I guess I'll use an electric kettle anyway to heat the water quick for tea (some teas require higher temps than 145F to steep in), then pour into the Travel Mug to maintain the lower 145F temp after 15min when it cools down (then put the lid on and take it on the go if needed).

So lets say you use the mug around the house early in the morning run most of the charge out, now you either have to wait 2-3 hours with it empty on the charger for it to recharge fully before it's useful away from the charging stand again. You are stuck with it only being able to heat your coffee in the charger the rest of the day. Fine if you only have 1 cup of coffee a day, or you are parked at a desk all day, but if you move around a lot at the office/home etc. it's really only good for 1 use. The only way it can recharge is to be empty for 2-3 hours on the charger.
The other thing we've noticed is it works much better for tea or plain coffee, once you start adding creamer or anything that thickens the drink, it does not heat nearly as well top to bottom. Makes sense really a thicker liquid is not going to mix as well just under thermal convection.
The other thing I've noticed is that ours loses quite a bit of charge if you don't use it daily. We fully charged it, and didn't use it for 3-4 days until the weekend and it had already lost 20% of it's charge. Fine if you are using/charging it daily but definitely not good for intermittent use.
At first wouldn't charge at all, hard reset it. Then it held a charge but kept turning off. Then the battery died in 10 minutes. Got a lemon for sure.
Ordered another and will be returning this one shortly.
EDIT: Replacement works and appears to be basically new. Someone's name was still on the travel mug's interface but the inside of the mug smelled like a new Apple product lol, no residues either. Doesn't seem to be used at all. Works for about an hour, so 50% of what's advertised.
