No, your thinking is wrong with Amazon . I used to think the same way but then I realized that when using my Amazon card they don't let me have any no rush digital credits. Whereas if I use non Amazon card then I do get qualified for that. So I rather choose the discover card and get the digital credits. I used to get many but then they switched it to just having 6% which is worthless when you got small orders.
C'mon Chase, announce PayPal for Q4
Hoping to stack with some discounted Target gift cards over the holidays

This is good for many people but I have 5% cb on Amazon card + 5% cb on target card so it's actually worse because I don't have other categories to use for this quarter 😢.

Just 5% on grocery would be fine for me as my local grocery store sells giftcards for many stores including Amazon. Very often, they even offer additional 10-20% cashback on giftcard purchase that can be stacked with the 5% from credit cards.
Why is this "Select Discover Cardholders"? Don't they offer this to all Discover Cardholders every year from October - December??
I was wondering the same. This is available to all Discover (cash back category) cardholders. You just have to register for it just as you do with Chase Freedom/Freedom Flex categories.
1.are we really doubling up on teh discount when get the pepper discount in addition to the credit card we charge to?
2.isn't this really getting the points now and having to wait to apply them to the *next* purchase?
3.why does it take 2 - 3 weeks to get those super bonus points, is it worth it?
4.i don't get the whole boosted merchant thing, are we supposed to just wait and look out for our favorite merchant to get boosted temporarily from time to time?

If they won't this year, my discover card will stay in the shelf for the entire holiday buying season.
It's usually about twice a year. I believe the limit is $500.
