Just talked to my local costco T-mobile kiosk, and you'll get $100 costco cash as long as you finance the phone for 24 mos.

So for me I am getting Iphone 16 Pro for $70... trading iphone 13 pro ($830) + $100 cash card
I am on go5g PLUS plan... for go5g NEXT its $1000 trade-in value.
Also I am finacing remaining amount i.e.$170..split as ~$7.08/pm for next 24 months,..

Can I upgrade one if my lines and give the new phone to my friend who is not on my plan. Would that impact my discount in any way? Could there be any other concern in doing this?

I don't believe so. But check the pricing on Go5g-Plus. It should be the same cost more or less. Don't trust the online system, reach out to T-mobile support on Facebook.

Hello Friends! If a T-Mobile subscriber on a Go5G Plus plan purchases an iphone 16 Plus from Apple directly (by trading in an iPhone 12) but financed via TMobile, will the new phone be locked or unlocked to the T-Mobile Network? Thanks.

I am in same boat. I upgraded 4 lines, 2 of them with Sam's club ($75 cash card per line) and 2 of them through Apple directly with TMO financing. One difference I noticed is Apple is giving only 800 against 830 so you will be loosing 130 per line going through Apple but it is worth it if the phone comes unlocked.

iPhones purchased directly from Apple, irrespective of EIP or not, will always come unlocked. Only exception is AT&T.
