TThanks for sharing but not a great deal. It's not even lukewarm.
For example, for IP16, we are paying $500 + 240 (20 * 12) = $740 (locked for a year with a 5GB plan!).

Each provider is just appearing to offer a discount but in reality, charging high through their plans!

I would just wait for a better deal. Either way I appreciate Op for sharing this one

$20 monthly plan is very cheap unlike other carriers like AT&T with $65+, Verizon $75+ and T-Mobile with $55+ plans - $300 off is very good with no tax using AT&T as service provided with great 5G coverage https://www.redpocket.com/coverage

It doesn't matter how other offers are worse than this one. It only make sense if you intend to subscribe to Red Pocket service in the first place. Otherwise, $740 versus $799 MSRP is just a $49 saving plus you're locked for a year.

What !! $20 is too much ? This is AI iPhone
Yes! $20/mo for a 5 gb plan is indeed too much!

You got so used to paying > $60 for a plan and >$1000 for a phone .. ain't you?

No wonder all this appears cheap to you now!

What matters is that you foolishly locked yourself into some sh*tty plan that you can't let go. So you basically made a shopping mistake, and blame Red Pocket for your poor judgment. This plan + phone combo here is an EXCELLENT deal.

i think Boost's deal is better. pay full price for an iPhone 16 and you get 1 year of service included. and the best part, the phone comes unlocked on day 1

Which plan do they give you though? I assume the cheapest one $25/month

Can you swap this one year plan in for the $20/month plan?

Correct. and no hotspot included in that cheaper boost plan. Still not bad if you don't need hotspot. Also those Boost phones will be taxed

They have that option on the webpage, "Buy device only".

Yes. Check this page's description again. There's an "unlocked offer" that provides a discount on the monthly plan over up to 24 months.

Just want to clear up some confusion that I'm seeing here. With the $300 rebate offer, the device must be active on the RedPocket GSMA (AT&T) network for 12 months before you can change to other tower options.Yes, an annual (12 month) ebay plan would work, but if you are just going to pick the cheapest plan, that may defeat the purpose of having the phone if you are using it as your daily driver. Once the $300 rebate has been redeemed after 3 months on a monthly autopay plan, the phone is still locked to RedPocket's AT&T service for 9 more months of active service. The rebate code will be available within 10 business days after your 3rd payment on AutoPay is confirmed.

However, if you decide to go with the unlocked offer that gives the discount on the monthly plan service, you are free to choose any RedPocket tower option over those 2 years. You are also free to use the phone on any non-RedPocket provider, but would forfeit any potential remaining monthly plan discounts if you port out. But adding an esim would be fine if you travel internationally on occasion.

It's easy to get $15/month on Mint for the annual and even $15 on T-Mobile prepaid monthly with no contract, so $20 is 5$ extra/month, so if 5GB works for you, it's an extra $60 over a year. Though for me personally, 7 or 8GB would be ideal, so I'm kind of forced on to the $30 month for more data than I need. But the 360 day RedPocket ebay plans can help with this and be more cost efficient for the last 9 months.

I have done this rebate offer now with RedPocket twice. I have never had issues with using the prepaid visa card.

And if you want to trade in an iPhone for example, the trade in value is different depending on your service provider compared to having an unlocked version. Doesn't make any sense since the phone is the same regardless. WTF

Boost Phone comes unlocked? I am interested in their one year plan. Is it that we can get a new iPhone every year? Is there a thread on boost deal? Interested

Does the phone get unlocked automatically after a year or it is also a painful process? I had a hard time port out a number from red pocket in the past

Trade-in values have been dropping quite a bit in the last few weeks before the new phones were announced. A good place to get best bang for your buck is check here https://www.bankmycell.com/sell/iphones
some buyers give you 14-30 days before you need to ship it. Unlocked or Verizon devices will get the highest offer.

Last year I let them unlock my phone and I automatically received an email without asking near the end of my 12th month. This year I contacted them last week on chat as soon as my 12th month payment was processed and they unlocked it 2 days later. they are very easy to get a hold of on chat on their website.
