So they give you no time estimate when they will ship? Possible you get your phone 4 weeks after release?

TThanks for sharing but not a great deal. It's not even lukewarm.
For example, for IP16, we are paying $500 + 240 (20 * 12) = $740 (locked for a year with a 5GB plan!).

Each provider is just appearing to offer a discount but in reality, charging high through their plans!

I would just wait for a better deal. Either way I appreciate Op for sharing this one
Why is this getting upvoted? $20 is an expensive plan? The hell?

If 5GB isn't enough for you, then so be it. It is for a lot of people.

It isn't for a lot of people, that is why the upvotes! I hope you realize that for $20 a month, competition is offering unlimited.

You know what would have made this a great deal?
Everything stays the same but with the UNLIMITED PLAN!

How is this a great deal compared to what you got?

To get a similar plan (20 GB) and the exact phone, you need to pay:
829 (1129 - 300 rebate)
+ 330 (30*11 months)
= $1159!

Am I missing anything here..

It appears to you in this deal that the plan is just FREE.. but that's because you already overpaid for your phone at Apple!
Yes you are missing his plan price of $240!!

Can someone confirm this is the best way to proceed. I use about 6~8 GB a month and will be outside the country in October and most of November.

1. "Rebate offer" deal at $20/month for 3 months
2. receive $300 rebate at 3rd payment presumably at day 61 or 90
3. Buy RedPocket $16.25/month GSMA 12GB for 1 year plan on eBay for $194.99 + $17.31 NY tax
4. extend service with the new 1 year plan (bring monthly from $20 -> $16.25, and data from 5 -> 12 GB)

Balance will be:
iPhone = $1399.00 - $300 = $1099.00
service = $20*3 + $194.99 + $17.31 = $272.30 for 15 month

Btw, does anybody know why they don't charge tax in many states if you just buy their phone?

The phone is not even out yet lol. This is a good deal if one wants the phone right away and doesn't want the typical 2-3 year contract all the big carriers have. Yes there will be better deals later, but this is a ok deal if someone wants the IPhone 16 right away. No idea about the service though.

That is the problem: you don't know if you will get the phone right away or in a month. Or two. They don't give you an estimated time of delivery. They just say they will ship it as soon as they get it. They maybe get 10 phones at launch, then who knows when they'll will get more.

It would be on SD, but looks like they never offered 400$ rebate, not even on Black Friday. Last years posts show $300

I think you've got it. But this seems like a lot of hassle to save $300 no? You could just buy the iPhone full price and do a $15/mo carrier ... How much difference would that be? I think if you will be using redpocket then this is a good deal. You may also want to consider their 24 mo 20gb $12/mo option (without rebate) as that would prob save you even more if you want to commit to 2 years.

Why only 3 months - stay with them for 1 year its only $20 per month and then it gets unlocked - so you get $300 discount on the phone and also $0 tax on the phone - so effectively ~$400 off on the phone ?
Where are you getting 0 tax from? They charge tax on the full phone price plus the plan

Just a word of caution about Red Pocket. I got iPhone 14 from them with similar rebate offer. However, my rebate was denied because my one of my auto pays did not go through even though it had nothing to do with any issues with my bank account. I contacted customer service and they wouldn't admit to any issues from their side. So my rebate was denied.

You'll have to INCLUDE the cost of wireless service for the same amount of time with another comparable. From what I know att or vzw are all locking in a 3 year contract for their priciest plans (around 70/80 a month).
