You wouldn't know until you've done it. If you don't use a knife often, it's probably not worth it to you. If you do, you should try one.
That said, I wouldn't buy a Benchmade. They aren't what they used to be.
Quality control has gone down, while prices have gone up.
They want $500 for a D2 infidel that hasn't changed in 20 years. $500 f****** dollars for a mass produced knife. I can get a Glock for not much more.
Most new models are half plastic.
I went in to buy a replacement 2550 (now 2551) a few years back and it was so poorly machined you couldn't get the slop out without tightening the pivot so much it wouldn't deploy. Utter junk. Even the dealer admitted it shouldn't have left the factory, AND they no longer allow dealer discounts, AND they elevated their prices 😂
No thanks. Way better options until they get back to reality. The founder died and now they're coasting on their name.

Don't be. It can really take a beating. I cycle through my full and mini CF bugouts nearly daily. I'm not using them as screwdrivers, but the S90V is great at taking a beating and holding an edge. Easily two of my very favorite knives (and I have dozens)!
