Features:
- Hagane Body - A reel body with high rigidity, which virtually eliminates body flexing due to it?s stiffness and impact resistance. The result? An angler?s actions are more efficiently transformed into cranking power. It?s efficiency through strength.
- Super Free Spool - SFS was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. The pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing, which keeps the gear in perfect alignment with the spool shaft to eliminate friction for longer casts and smoother operation.
- Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D) - S3D Technology utilizes a balanced and uniform thin wall aluminum spool to significantly reduce spool vibration and increase smoothness when casting and retrieving.
- SVS Infinity - Provides easy to manage, consistent spool control and brake force that is easily adjusted as conditions change. Brake weights use inner friction against the raceway during the cast for precision casting even when using lighter lures. The external adjustment knob provides quick, precise adjustments on the fly for when conditions or baits change.

I still have this, but I have converted to almost completely a Curado DC line up due to their ability in the wind. Only other one in my regular line up is an exsence dc I picked up while in Japan.
I would say in regular conditions the SLX XT is just as good as a DC, but when you start dealing with wind and what not the DC's start to really excel. Also not really having to re-adjust for weight at all is where the DC's work well. I can swap from a 1/16oz jighead to a 1/4 and not adjust anything and they will generally work fine. They will also prevent too much of a rats nest compared to a non-dc.
I actually had an Abu Garcia Record that was left-handed and I couldn't get used to it for the life of me. I've tried with other left-handed BCs and it just feels off... I don't have the right muscle memory I guess.
I think part of what has thrown me off is that all my spinning gear is primarily left-handed. I feel weird when I try to wind right-handed on a spinning reel. Yet, somehow I feel perfectly fine winding a right-handed baitcaster.... I think it's the positioning of the handle and slight nuances in how all of that turns between a spinning reel and baitcaster as well.
What's even weirder is that I have a buddy who is left-handed and he's the same way, although I guess you could argue that he *should* prefer a standard right-hand baitcaster. But when it comes to spinning gear, he defaults to the left wind...
I know, it doesn't make any sense at all. But that's just how I fish hahahaha.
Sorry for the long-winded discourse.
