Pretty much ANY helmet with 5 star rating is good since difference is VERY small. (Better to focus on fit - I would take 100th ranked well fitting helmet vs. 34th ranked ill fitting helmet).

Pretty much ANY helmet is better than no helmet at all though.

I have an older white laser helmet and is the lightest and most comfortable one I've ever owned.

Virginia Tech's testing is the go-to for bike helmets. 34th doesn't sound high until you look that it still gets 5 stars.

If you are a roadie, that's not a bad deal. But I like the look of MTB helmets more and they often offer better coverage. Specialized Tactic 4 is one of the highest rated and is on sale now:
