Almost all the transfer mechanisms except real UPSes are likely a roll of the dice, if you really want to test and see.. People are likely to be disappointed or caught by surprise if they use any of these, including all the power stations, "EPS"es, Ecoflows and what not.
I see "real" UPSes have switchover delay of 8ms or so.. And the "green" ones also are made to consume minimal (2-5W) power when "idle" or floating.
So if one wants to be sure, get a cheap UPS ($40ish) and stick it as the first defense. You'll free yourself up to have any big backup after that, and can even manually switch on/off while the first UPS drains..
But if your use-case doesn't mind a quick reboot (most people likely don't have very involved setups that can tolerate 0 resets), just put something like this and call it a day.
EDIT: Technical spec sheet says transfer speed < 5ms . If that's accurate it should be plenty fast for a UPS function.

If you want for camping etc. you should get a "portable power station". There are ecoflow and other brand ones posted regularly.
Otherwise, this seems to be a steal, being big, heavy and beefy, transformer design etc.. And the only other issue seems to be ground/neutral swapped on some early revisions{?) . That's easily testable and changed if still an issue.
Which aspects of the reviews bother you the most..? would be good to get your thinking..

But if there is a safety issue or the house catching fire I tread very carefully.. You definitely don't want your house to catch fire in the long run!

Well, price went up to $170 or $225 it looks like.. so if it wasn't a good deal for someone at $140, it's good to look at alternatives even harder with.a higher price..
