Excellent deal for anyone who wants a 36GB RAM Mac, which is not a lot of people but still an excellent deal. I think retailers are clearing inventory for the upcoming M4 series.

What do you do with a powerful laptop with so much memory but with cellphone storage?

Most professionals I know have external drives of sorts to work off (SSD, NAS, or straight off SD cards). Faster, more reliable, and cost effective.

edit: In media production work. Editing and rendering a video off the same drive is slower since the computer needs to read AND write to the same drive at the same time, hence faster. Also you don't want to store your production footage on a single computer since you'd lose it all at once if accident happens, hence reilable. Cost effective is very obvious.

For coding you don't need that much storage most of the time anyway. I have a feeling people downvoting this don't work professionally at all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wish it is was 16" with 1TB SSD for this price.
Bestbuy has the 16" with 1TB for $200 more as an open box which is more worth it. I am currently using an open box macbook pro for 2 yrs now & it is like brand new. Mine is a M1 Max with 32GB Ram. I do video & Photo editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut & Photoshop) and it works great.

Best Buy had it for $2200 with plus membership but if you cancelled it the same day they refunded it.
