This makes good coffee, but the carafe has a defective design and leaks every time to pour it. I have gone through 3 carafes and they all suffer the same issue.

Isn't this just using the normal standard cuisinart carafe design?

I think they are referring to when Gevalia used to give out a free coffee maker when you "subscribed" to their coffee.

My 12-Cup Cuisinart will leak if you try to pour too much out at once but doesn't leak if you pour normally. The 14-Cup has an improved lid with a wider opening which is even better but you still can't over load the lid with too much coffee. Pouring a little slower might solve the issue.

I'm on my third one (Jan 2024) of this model over span of more than 8 years. I haven't seen a 'leaky carafe, including a replacement carafe I bought due to accidental breakage. I did on an older 12-cup model over a decade ago.

The reason I'm on a 3rd is due to an electrical mishap with my previous one. The first one saw 7 solid years of service. Based on my overall experience, I would buy this again without hesitation. We brew at least one pot every single day and oftentimes two (household of 5 avid coffee drinkers) and with company or holidays it's several on those days. About the only rest it gets is overnight.

This model has been a mainstay in Cuisinart's lineup for a long time, with some very minor changes along the way and for good reason. It's been a solid performer, makes good coffee for a drip style maker, hitting and maintaining optimal temp during brewing, and.... It's 14 cups, which are hard to come by and desirable for larger households or frequent company.

Anything under $75 is a rock solid deal on this model. Normal sale prices are at/around $75. Honestly, if I couldn't wait for a sale i would still buy this at $99 and not lose sleep over it.

Sounds like you might just be half asleep when pouring your coffee.

This is a very good coffee maker, especially if you have family over, or a larger household. There's nothing fancy to it, but it has a reliable timer and it's built with quality. 14 cups = 70 ounces.

Had this for a year and hasn't leaked once when pouring.

The only mildly annoying "leak" from the carafe is after a dishwasher cycle, there's always water caught up under the plastic rim of the carafe and runs down/drips everywhere.

Otherwise great coffeemaker. Just note that 14 cups is 70oz in Cuisinart world.
