I bought it yesterday for $2340 with Capital One Shopping's 13.6% cash back. Just got the email confirming $316 cash back plus Lenovo's $70 cash back (store credit).
Great deal.

Lenovo is crazy.
I ordered the same laptop yesterday with same price. But I applied student discount, EXTRAFIVE coupon also additional discount added by representative. Now I am seeing the same price with just one coupon. LOL

I just bought a refurb of this exact Legion 7 laptop, and it's great. I use it as a primary gaming machine now and being able to take it with me is fantastic. That being said, the Mac is an entirely different use case. If you're in the Apple ecosystem and/or you don't plan on gaming, I would probably get a similarly priced Mac; however, if you want to game at all, I would get this. As powerful as those Macs are, gaming support for Macs is still awful and this is going to blow pretty much every Mac out of the water on the gaming front.

I have a legion slim 7 that I love, but could definitely use the extra ram and power. So very tempting.

I checked a lot of reviews and haven't seen anything unusual about thermals.
The native fan controls on my Lenovo Legion 5 which has a 3070 (sorry different laptop) run slow naturally and throttle, but there were/are ways to go around that with software that controls how loud and annoying your fan can really go (legion fan control had 3rd party software out there). Warning: After going max fan speed for a year I feel the fans got damaged (some extra noise naturally, might need a replacement), but I play on Bluetooth headphones with noise cancelations so I don't get the brunt of it, and otherwise hook it up to the TV for 4k gaming (keep it 3 meters away via Bluetooth).
Edit, also got a laptop stand that doesn't have much blockage right under the laptop to get some natural air circulation, it works great. Gaming can heat up a 500sqft room in the winter 10'F after an hour of play at near max settings so its an investment to keep AC costs down. Wink

When? Honestly curious.
Articles guess in December or January. However, previous guesses for earlier this year fell through when people were guessing based on previous time-tables, as Nvidea started to focus on these other types of chips and sales (not for gaming, well, you can run Doom on anything, lol, but their chips for servers for AI shifted their priorities a bit because it made their stock go Woooosh!).

Ryzen 9000 CPUs and RTX 5090s coming in a few months. Time to clear out the last-gen junk.
Mobile models take longer to launch than desktop parts so it'll be over a year for the mobile 5090 to release. On top of that , good luck finding 5090 laptops for under $3000 on launch.

There is no 13.6% for capital one shopping. Only 3% and 1.5%

Not sure what homeboy is talking about with 13.6%

I had the same issue, after going to the Lenovo site. I just received an email from capital one shopping that I can earn 13.5% in rewards by activating the offer in my email.

I never really used capital one shopping before, can you redeem the rewards for cash? or do you have to use it towards one of the gift cards they offer. If its a gift card, I think I'll wait for that other cashback site for the 10% offer.

No. Just on the gift cards they offer.

For anyone interested in capital one shopping cb, just browse lenovo page with cap one add-on installed. And after some time you will see that 13.5% deal on your cap one shopping home page. I saw it the next day. Just be aware, that the number of gift cards you can purchase for your cb is very limited.

You don't need to run it full throttle to have a great experience. What you do is have a active cooler like a IETSGT600 for desktop replacement use if you are running a game at full bore (i.e. massive amount of raytracing, cpu usage, etc) and set it to balanced mode when alone or you just don't want any noise. I paid same 2300 last year for an HP 13900HX/4090m and year you need a cooling solution but I can just run it balanced mode for most games and not even care. This is a great deal because it has an AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU, which are both the thermally efficiency options in terms of performance and with a dece monitor.
