It was pretty good on PC. A little weird because it's not the same studio doing the remake, but an A for effort. I wouldn't hesitate for a second buying it if they did a remake of Zwei.

I've actually never played it but have the ability to. Probably no point in waiting any longer for a remake, doubt it will happen. I wonder how it holds up playing it now for the first time.

This is a great game. I never played the other games in the series but played the heck out of it on PC. The story is very nice too, mostly conveyed without language. Also liked the ending.

As with similar games it boils down to pattern memorialization but the lock on mechanics and the vast airy feeling of the environment and the world you fly thru while cleasing enemies all around you makes it a pleasure to play.

PS: use a full sized controller if you play it on Switch. Playing with joycons hurt my fingers after the 1st stage..

Oh, just me sitting here thinking about the time I sold my copy of Saga AND Dragon Force for like $400 back in 2005ish :/

This is a pretty good remake though!

I have it on PC - I believe by default it uses the new remixed soundtrack so be sure to go to the options and change to original soundtrack - it is much, much higher quality. Not even close.

Also for people asking about Panzer Dragoon Saga I have an alternative suggestion - Zeno Clash 2. It's on sale for $2.99 (I suggest the special edition for $4.99 which includes the soundtrack):

I consider it the unintentional spiritual sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga. The music and artwork (which are awesome) have plenty in common. They are both relatively short (sub-20 hrs) RPGs with non-traditional RPG combat. The big difference is that Zeno Clash 2 has ground based, first-person, real-time, close combat fighting (Zeno Clash 1 is a non-RPG that uses this fighting system. About 3 to 5 hours long).

Sigh. I traded my entire Sega cd collection. Including saga. And many other gems for an n64 and mortal kombat 4 to funco land. 😢
