Nope. None of them will port in 4k. You have to buy them in 4k to port 4k.

They only auto upgrade to 4k if purchased direct from apple, these are from Amazon, so will stay HD when ported to apple

You're not wrong, but he's not wrong either. Video compression is pretty decent these days so you may not notice as much difference over streaming anymore, but you will notice on the audio. Compression there for streaming vs on a disc makes a huge difference.

Yes but...

DVDs generally top out at 448kbps and Netflix uses 640kbps DD+, so in this case Netflix is actually better both in terms of sound quality and supporting more than 5.1 surround. Now are any streaming services using uncompressed Dolby TrueHD? No, of course not, but I would argue most people don't have the equipment to tell a difference; so I do agree that sound is highly dependent on equipment utilized.
Yes streaming audio might be in the ballpark of DVD audio but that's a big stretch imo.

With good equipment (heck even a decent).
Legacy 5.1 surround on DVD disc sounds better than any 4k streaming, not even close in my experience.

With so many switching to soundbars this is pretty much a moot debate.

Same. The prequels are pretty awful. The sequel trilogy had a lot of good ideas and is consistently visually interesting, they just completely failed to plot out their story ahead of time and, as a result, ended up being a bit of a mess.

I'd rather watch a pile of "didn't quite work out" be interesting ideas over wooden acting against green screens and Jar Jar Binks any day..
Yes, the Disney films really blew it with the last movie.

I saw a fan edit of The Phantom Menace where they cut out much of Jar Jar and the kid where possible. The best part was the "Cathedral" fight scene at the end stayed with the fight instead of repeatedly jumping to young Anakin accidentally blowing up the mothership.

How has Disney not released the unedited original trilogy upscaled to HD or 4K? Did Lucas destroy the original theatrical versions?
It would not entirely surprise me if Lucas demanded a clause in the terms of the sale to Disney that the OOT either never gets released or gets released after his death or much later down the road, at which point the demand for the OOT will be less because it's the 40 to 60-somethings that are pining for the OOT the most.

I don't think they are considered the same "streaming" as Netflix,Disney,Hulu,Apple, etc.
As a matter of fact they are often compare themselves to that type of streaming.

You better have a pretty good equipment to spend that much on that service.

You can also do it yourself for much cheaper or just buy a player!

They are the extended releases, one movie is 8 hours long for example! Not too keen on that
Thanks.

Unfortunately you inadvertently misled everyone. I thought Apple upgraded any MA movies that could be but did not want to reply until I got home. The new Integra receiver I have has a nice Info button that shows input and output specs. If you really want a pic of that with Lucas Films logo I could but hopefully nobody thinks I write in a format like below of which I copied and pasted from the pics I took. Lot of thumbs up so I guess others are under the same belief. Cheers.

I purchased through Amazon, and I am seeing full iTunes, extras and 4K content at my Apple iTunes library.

You're saying that because your Integra receiver is receiving a 4K video signal from your AppleTV box, the movies are streaming in 4K? Sorry but nope. Play the movie, swipe down to info with Apple remote, and post a screen shot of the 4K symbol and then I'll believe you.
