This backpack is a BEAST! Absolutely worth every frickin penny. It's keeps its form even when empty. That might be a pro/con for some. So many compartments. There is a rigid top compartment for glasses that sometimes gets in the way. I would have preferred a flat pocket as I keep my glasses in a hard case on the side. One of the bottom side pockets has a bungee cord with a cord lock to secure a water bottle. My primary use for this pack is for my camera gear; however I wished there were some side straps to secure a tripod, but that's a complaint only for my use case. Otherwise it's one of the most versatile packs on the market, extremely durable, and comfortable. The notebook/tablet compartment is quick-access for airport security. One of my favorite features of this pack is the carryon handle sleeve. Yes, it's not an exclusive feature, but it's the best implementation of the feature I've seen. The entire lumbar padding slips over the handles of your wheeled carryon and very secure, so it doesn't flop around. I find myself hauling the pack on my carryon more often on luggage than on my back since it keeps me from having to take the pack off/on each time I need to get something for quick access. The fact that it's riding on my carryon means I don't have to bend down or awkwardly hold the pack when digging through it and keeps it off the ground. Been waiting to get another one for the wife, but have bought a well-rated cheaper alternative that has left me wanting to get this when it goes back on sale. Jumped on this one. Get it—you won't regret it.

Do you think a MacBook 16 could fit in it?

have a 10 year old Gambit 17 (which looks identical to the Renegade now?) And its a beast. its got some cuts/scrapes and a broken strap so going to get a replacement. would really like to see the Pro at a discount even though I can't clearly tell what is different about the pro, it must be better right?

I will have 8 days Spain Trip soon and thinking about to get this one for packing.
Is this adequate size for the travel?
I have been looking for a back pack for 8 days Europe trip.

Thanks

It's showing either temporarily out of stock or one to two months shipping. I don't really care which color I get, which one should I purchase? I purchased a temporarily out of stock one but I hope they don't cancel the order. Thoughts?

You might want to look into Duffel backpacks like NF Voyager or Patagonia Black hole. They will accommodate more stuff if needed. More expensive though.

I'm looking to replace my current travel backpack and I love that this one has so many pockets, but one of the reasons my wife is telling me to get a new one is that the one I have is very bulky because of the excess padding (it's one of those TSA ones that you're supposed to open and lay flat) so even though it's not that big it feels big...

even empty it's heavier than you'd think it should be...

does this one have the same kind of bulky padding that makes it bigger than it is? like, if you fill it up pretty good, does it still fit under a standard airline seat in front of you or do you have to stow it?

thanks!

I think I got in just in time. I was only able to snag the Black Pindot, Large but it is on backorder. Now it appears the price is $100.
Fingers crossed.

I have the old version of this and have had it for 10+ years. I've travelled with it around the US/EU. Works great. Empty, mine lays pretty flat - maybe because it's older and a little beat up, but it does fit under airline seats without a problem. If it's really full, it does get a little puffed up.

In for one as the existing one has been a daily-driving champ and is still going strong. Time for one that looks a little better.
