How much do you expect for a non-carrier promotion for a 4-year old base model phone?

AT&T & T-Mobile offer $1K value for iPhone 12 with their premium plans. Many are buying it for trading in with their carrier. Already got a 12 from Metro last deal, which was $50 more.

Keeping my current phones (13 and higher) as spares so I can trade these in instead for less.

If you don't auto-pay or extend service, there is nothing to cancel. You just stop paying. Based on what I have read, device should auto unlock after 12 months from activation and continued service is not required.

Check out the unlock policy link I shared earlier.

Bought iphone 12 from the last deal about 2 weeks ago, but now when I try to add another line it says right on the iphone 12 page:

"Sorry, you are not eligible to add a new line. Please contact support to discover the reason for ineligibility. 1-888-8metro8"

Anyone else have this or know what the problem is?

EDIT: just tried again (a couple of hours later) and it worked. So added a 2nd line for $35.
I used vpn, logged in to same account and it allowed me to buy again.

The limiting factor, at least for me, in scaling this deal is obtaining Google Voice numbers. They just shadow banned one of my accounts that I haven't logged in for years and now logged in to claim Google Voice number. It can't get Voice number, shows "something went wrong" whenever I select number.

Had to claim it on a different Google account that is regularly used. I waited an hour after I unlocked it and successfully placed the order at Metro.

If I already have Metro Service with an iPhone 11, can I just purchase this phone with a new phone number/account number and move my existing SIM into this Iphone 12 and keep my same number?

Use a different email and card when you purchase on the website
That don't work. You need new name, address, credit card. Basically a brand new person.

i12 is dual sim. The new number will be activated on esim. You can move your i11 sim to i12. You just have to log in and enter the new i12 imei. The esim will be inactive after 1 month.

Yes, but first you must do the deal and port in non-tmobile number. eSIM can be moved around after the purchase.

I purchased one three days ago, and it was delivered yesterday. Is there any chance I can get the $50 back now?

none, zero, zip, zilch..you can waste 2 hours like i did and get nothing while being transferred to 5-6 departments located in several SE Asian countries

I also tried chat...NOTHING

Best I could do is $30 credit for 2nd month ( i dont need it , i'm trading this) or return and reorder the cheaper deal but your number might be SOL

FVCK them

Sweetness. I just ordered one.
I just needed a phone to use at home for photos and wifi only and this was cheaper than buying a used phone!
I didn't see anyone here mention it, but it was my first time using Google voice. I had to pay $3 to "unlock" the number. Did I really have to do that or would T-mobile payed the $3 fee?
