How much do you expect for a non-carrier promotion for a 4-year old base model phone?

AT&T & T-Mobile offer $1K value for iPhone 12 with their premium plans. Many are buying it for trading in with their carrier. Already got a 12 from Metro last deal, which was $50 more.

Keeping my current phones (13 and higher) as spares so I can trade these in instead for less.

If you don't auto-pay or extend service, there is nothing to cancel. You just stop paying. Based on what I have read, device should auto unlock after 12 months from activation and continued service is not required.

Check out the unlock policy link I shared earlier.

Nice, good to know you can port out before 1 month.
Do you have to call in for port-out PIN or account number?
You can use the MyMetro app or Metro online account to request a Port PIN. They will send it to the phone along with the date/time when it expires. To get the account number, call C.S. or log into your account, look at Payment History, pull up a previous billing statement to see the Account Number in the bill.

Do you know what the criteria is for being able to have more than 2 lines in an account?
It's very YMMV. Some accounts (like in my previous attachment) were able to order more than 2 lines. Some got stopped at 2. My friend had an account that he ordered two iPhones and as many as 10 Samsung A9+ tablets at $0 + $20 Data Line each. He stopped ordering more tablets only because Metro raised the price on the tablet to $50 or more.

Got it, thanks.

I just tried again to order the 2nd line/phone on my account and got the same security error as before. I changed the capitalization of my name (in both places - at the beginning and later on for the payment info) but it didn't help. I think I will give them a call.

Whenever it shows the full price, that means the phone number you submitted for checking wasn't eligible for porting in. Since you tried that number again, got it to show $0 for the phone, then the order failed, I'd call C.S. and see what's going on. You might get a rep that has no clues, or you might get a helpful rep that will place the order for you.
I called CS and the rep said my account looked fine, I asked her to help me add a second line with iPhone 12. I gave her the info for the number I was porting in. She put me on hold to "check inventory" which took a few minutes. Hmm. She came back and said yes it was available, and it would be $100+ if that was ok. I said hold on, isn't it free with the Metro Flex Plus plan? She said she would check and put me on hold again, also for a few minutes. When she came back she said it was an in-store promotion and suggested that I visit a store. I asked a few more questions to try to understand the situation. She then abruptly ended the call without saying thank you or goodbye after I thanked her. I'm pretty sure my account has been flagged.

Yeah, when your account is flagged, their system does all kinds of strange things. On one account that I already bought two discounted phones, it said to call C.S. when I ordered a 3rd phone. I called and the rep said my credit card was not valid. It was the same card that I used for the previous two phones. She asked if I had any other cards, I gave her two more cards but each one came up as invalid. She really tried to help me with ordering the 3rd phone, but it just couldn't go through.

I tried once more online after hanging up and still got the same security error. I thought I would try to create a new account using my son's name (a long shot since he's still a minor). But now it's quoting me $299 for the phone (you may remember that this happened earlier this morning when I tried to add a line to my own account). I tried several numbers, even the "random" one that earlier this morning was still letting me get the phone for $0, but with all numbers I tried the cost of the phone was $299.

Have they made a change for NumberBarn/GV numbers?

At this point I've pretty much given up. I'll wait for my wife's second phone to get activated and see if they will let me add a 3rd line to her account.

I don't know. Maybe someone who ordered today or recently with a number from NumberBarn or GV will chime in.

I always used my own zip code to port GV numbers, but some people use Google's zip code in CA. Either one works.

I successfully ported out GV number and I can make calls. However, it goes directly to GV voicemail when someone tries to call my number. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Call Metro Porting Dept at 800-518-7519 and ask them to fix it, or leave it alone and it will complete in 7 to 30 days. That was my actual experience. I didn't need to use my Metro lines so I wanted to see how long it would take for Metro and GV to resolve it.

I'm having the similar issue .. when someone calls that GV number, it rings and I see GV receives the call (web) but I can make outgoing calls from phone.
