So now my issue is where do I port the two phone numbers out to? They're originally from Google Voice.
I ported my two Metro numbers to Total Wireless to get two Samsung A54's for $0 + plan (requires ID Verification and a selfie). The plan for the 1st line is $65 and for the 2nd line it's $30. Too bad they charged sales tax on their full price, adding $52 to the total cost. Still, it's not too bad, $147 for two A54's which will be unlocked 60 days after activation. I checked a few weeks ago and an unlocked A54 was selling for around $160 on Ebay. I will sell one after it's unlocked and keep one as a spare for my wife's phone.

Total Wireless has other free/discounted phones for port-in + plan + ID Verification.

so....when these come back in stock...I can theoretically get a 3rd and 4th line (and 3rd and 4th iphone 12 for $35 each?)
In theory...NO. You typically get only two discount/free phones per account. In some cases, you can get more (I got two iPhone 12's, two A9+ tablets, one Moto Edge 2024, one Moto G Stylus 5G 2024) but it's not guaranteed.

I ported in a Google Voice number to buy my second iphone 12. I just activated the iphone 12 today. I can make cell phone calls out to other phones numbers just fine. If I make an incoming phone call to the iphone 12 with the ported in a Google Voice number, nothing happens.

I really don't care whether the Google Voice number that was ported in works fully or not with the iphone 12. I just want to activate the phone and get the 12 months unlocked period started.

Your i12 is activated as far as unlocking is concerned. Although incoming texts and calls are going to GV, the phone will receive the security code from Metro for logging in, because the code is sent via Metro internal system, not typical SMS text.

Incoming and outgoing SMS texts work with the GV ported number. It is just the incoming calls that are going to GV. Thanks for your inputs.

In my case, while the GV numbers weren't completely ported yet, incoming SMS went to my GV account, had to log into GV to read the texts (from Total Wireless to verify eligibility for porting from Metro to Total Wireless for deals).

I thought about doing the Metro i13 deal, but that means asking another brother to use his name, address, card. Plus I don't use iPhones and don't see any good trade-in deals in the future (not interested in upgrading my Samsung S24 to S25). If I buy two Metro i13's, that will mean spending over $300 for something I might not use.

Up to a point. Between May 2023 and April 2024, I had 3 accounts at my own address, each for a different person (myself, wife, daughter) and their email, phone number, card. All together, I was able to order 8 phones and two tablets before Metro blocked further orders to my address. One account was able to order 2 phones; one ordered 4 phones; one ordered 2 phones and 2 tablets. Metro is very YMMV.

I think member aabbccbbaa is using his address for his account and his wife's account.

Wow, that's why they banned you. I saw Metro sell repeatedly but bought only 1 when I need. I dont't buy buy and put in desk drawer as other people.

If you don't want to keep it after it's unlocked you probably can sell it at a good profit. I sold a Metro-locked Moto Edge 2024 for $210 on Ebay near the end of August.

I have always ordered only one phone at a time with Metro. Another person told me that he was able to order two phones at the same time. Maybe he gave me incorrect information. I know that with Total Wireless I was able to order two phones at the same time to get the discounted plan on the 2nd line.
I've been reading through this thread to learn about ordering a second line if the iPhone 12 ever comes back in stock, and I'm curious what people do with a surplus of extra phones? I know that I could trade in at the Apple Store to get a credit/gift card. What else is possible? Sell the phone as a used phone? Is it worth the extra time and effort?
