Pretty good deal before the new models get announced. I know the m4 is aroundd the corner but pretty good deal and you get 90 days to decide if you want to keep it.

I just finished with a screen/lid replacement on one of these. Serviceability has definitely improved over previous generations, but it's still a very challenging product to repair. $770 total bill, for those wondering. YMMV

I've been watching this model and it was $1499 not too long ago. I know, Time Machine and all, but I'm holding out for a lower price maybe.
This is the 16". I don't think these were ever $1499. The $1499 were the 14" model. This seems like a really good deal if interested in the 16" version.

Indeed, 16 inch version has never been $1499. That would be 40% off MSRP. Even with M4 versions coming out soon that would be hell of a deal. I don't think $2K is a great deal since M4 are coming out soon. If it was ~$1800 I'd bite.

I would feel bad buying at Costco to test drive for 90 days. Fair enough if you honestly change your mind or the device doesn't work for you but speculative test driving feels kinda meh.

Did you have apple care? If not, would it have been covered if you did have it?

Currently it's the same price at Best Buy and Amazon. Decent price for this spec. Same computer on Apple edu store is $2299 and you then get the $150 gift card. So this at $1999 is still a better price overall.

Snagged open box 16 silver m1 16/16 512 for 1k Microcenter and it's amazing. I still think that was a steal for certified Apple refurb

512 SSD is ridiculous. Hello? Its 2024 & other companies already have 1 TB or more as standard config.

That's a great deal, congrats on it! How are you liking it and what do you use it for? I'm in doubt if the base model will suffice for me as every now and then I want to run a VM, so storage and memory may be a bit on the lower end for me.

This laptop is great, and it has way more power than what I'm using it for, but I really enjoyed the large screen and great speakers.

With the new M4 models supposedly being announced this month, do you think this price would get any lower for this particular model?
