The price of this bundle appears to have dropped $10 to $440, but it's still unfortunately not a very good deal for most people. Microcenter's 7700x bundle with the exact same motherboard and ram is currently $390, $50 cheaper: https://www.microcenter
The 9700x isn't substantially superior compared to the 7700x in windows for most common use cases (such as gaming, with a performance uplift of ~6%). Unless you primarily use linux, or have specific avx512 productivity workloads that are a primary use case for you (and even then you'd probably be better off looking at a higher core count zen 4 part), the 9700x simply doesn't deliver performance sufficient to justify the premium.

i bought better ram because i was in a hurry, and gskill later replaced the set, but i had to hassle with their website, box it up, and pay shipping to send it in.

if you are gaming at 4k in particular, non-x3d would generally be more cost efficient, because 4k gaming is usually limited by the gpu not the cpu.
