This isn't better than the 990c.

Samsung HW-Q990C Powered 11.1.4-channel sound bar system with Wi-Fi, Apple ...
total system power:

656 watts. Sound bar: 9 speakers powered by a 384-watt built-in amplifier. dedicated center channel for clear dialogue; side-firing and ...
The soundbar is not the same in the q910c/q930c vs. q900/q990c. I grouped those to show which have the same soundbar & subwoofer.

Q900c is the same as the Q990c without the rear speakers.

Q910c & q930c have the same soundbar & subwoofer but the rear speakers are different (swa-9200s vs SWA-9500S). The rear speakers of the q930c are a big improvement.

The q900c can be paired with the q930c rear speakers (SWA-9500S) but not the q990c rear speakers.

Yep, they are legit. They are a sort of clearinghouse through which authorized dealers offload their overstock, so you get all the warranties and receipts and such as if you purchased through official channels, but far below MSRP. And no sales tax as icing on the proverbial cake.

For TVs, I'd be scared. But for speakers, I'll take the risk for the savings.

Do they make this version or something comparable without the surrounds? Would love the soundbar because it doesn't sit so high but no need for surrounds in my situation.

I just got the 990c yesterday. i believe the soundbar itself is the same. actually the q910d actually has some improvements that another thread had listed when compariong 990c vs 990d.

I don't even have it in the right positions, and it's amazing coming from a pioneer 5.1.2 setup. The audio is definitely an upgrade. And the problem i see with the 910c is the rears don't have upfiring atmos. That's probably the only thing missing worthy in this set. A regular 7 channel 5.1.2 would be the same so you're kinda missing the peice of the puzzle that makes these sound bars stand out. Since a 9 channel 5.1.4 would cost alot just for the amp alone those go for 4-500 clearance. But for the front I will say before I synced up the rears. The front soundbar itself played music great. It had some bass in the soundbar itself which is nice but obviously the woofer made all the difference. Watching TV sounded really clear with the voices. It looks like the bar itself is the same as 990c just the rears are different.

My advice spend the $200 now so you don't think about it for the next 3 to 5 years hoping the current full setup goes on sale to see what you're missing.

I've used Greentoe numerous times. I've never had a problem. But I always buy small things like camera bodies and lenses.

Guys they used the wrong photo showing the rear speakers on the web site.

They showed the image from the rears that have atmos upfiring. This q910d version doesn't have rears that up fire.

The rest of the images look correct that I can see.

Excellent advice.

Thanks.

I have a set of rear upfiring atmos speakers from the best buy open box clearances for $80.

If I swapped the nonupfiring ones on this 910D, with the upfiring ones I have, do you think the firmware supports that?

good overview of the HW-Q910D's specs, via Crutchfield's product details page:

we're looking for HDMI 2.1 passthrough and a few other considerations.

some of the details well down page cover some of the limitations relative to Samsung's position on various formats; e.g., Dolby Vision HDR, eARC, etc.

***poking the web further, found Samsung's marketing (Best Buy) overview, which indicates 4k passthrough is limited to 60Hz.

The SD-noted pricing, indicating too a 1-yr Samsung warranty (which would be standard, per the bit of broad reading I just did) does make this awfully tempting.
