That review is the sound bar by itself. The bass is great in this module, and hdmi in is only useful for a select few cases. The biggest knock is this doesn't support DTS which is legacy audio codec for many blurays

I think these days Bose feels overpriced. I think Samsung Q990 series is better than this one.

Bar vs bar the Sonos Arc is a better standalone. I'm tempted to try this one though since it includes the sub and surround speakers which from Sonos would almost cost as much as this whole setup by themselves.

While the bar and bass module itself are impressive, the biggest disappointment is the rear speakers on this set. The rear speakers that come with these are tiny compared to Sonos or Samsung. It means that the rear speaker drivers are also smaller and don't have as much fullness to them. Also, they have giant chain and ball power blocks that have to be hidden or an eyesore aesthetically speaking.

But this or the Samsung 990D may be better for Android users since it support Chromecast (Google Cast) while Sonos only supports Airplay.
