Pass. Using points for non-travel purchases is generally bad value, especially when you factor in how much spending and time it takes to build up 35k points.
This deal saves about $60. Might as well just wait a few more weeks for a straight $50 discount when retailers start doing pre-black friday sales.
Not too long ago Chase had 50% points boost, which is a way better deal if you cant wait for it again.
Unpopular comment here but if you utilize Chase's travel partners like Hyatt through Sapphire, you can routinely get 2-3X value versus this 1.15X value. Not really a deal IMO but to each their own

As others have said, redeeming points for merch is generally not a good use of potential value of points, and that's pretty much a universal statement. That said, if you never travel, getting a better redemption through hotel stays or airfare is worthless to you.
damn, so this implies redeem ultimate rewards as a bank direct deposit is a terrible use of points right? i literally just did that a couple days ago. didn't know they had extra value when used towards travel
Usually cash is the worst possible redemption value you can get, regardless of type of points. You should get better value when redeeming for gift cards, even.
If you are actually wanting to use points to get an Apple Watch, though not ideal, there is an offer going on under the Pay Yourself Back for 25% extra points when used on purchases through club stores.
You could ideally get the watch at Sam's club or Costco and then use the points to Pay Yourself Back and it would be a better deal overall.

you can redeem 70k points + taxes for a business class transatlantic flight by transferring to aeroplan if you have a sapphire card. I don't find this a great value proposition either.

This. Best redemption I had was to Virgin for ANA first class r/t to Japan for 120K points. Value at $25K….
I felt bad for a second because I just received my AW2 from Amazon for $10 more, but I purchased with my Amazon chase card and got 6% cashback with Amazon Day delivery. I'm thinking that my Chase cards would give me 1-1.5% cashback on the Chase portal. So yeah, this doesn't seem like a great deal if you have a Prime Rewards card.

I see. I know that's the case with discover cash back where you can get good deals on gift cards. With all other credit cards (I have CCs with bank of america, chase, capital one, usbank, amex), I had thought it was better to just redeem for a statement credit/direct deposit

Yes this is a better deal for those wanting to use points on a watch. I think Chases Apple partner has zero return policy also.
True, but that means you are still pretty early in the signup bonus game. I got all the big bonuses already, so can't get anymore from Chase due to their sign up bonus rules. Need to wait a couple years for it to reset.
Wrong. I have more than 10 Inks. You can get one every 60-90 days. I refer between P2 and myself and we get one every 45 days on average.

Not unpopular! It amazes me how people fall for marketing gimmicks.
Just curious, what do you do to get that value, do you transfer the points to Hyatt? I have Sapphire Preferred also have Amex Platinum

I went this way and it worked out. I've got a few million Chase and Amex points because I haven't been traveling much and so figured why not.

Side note: delivery showing 4-6 weeks with the 46mm black model.
Hopefully it's sooner.

Usually wait for transfer bonuses via chase and its partners and/or when there are sales at the partners
