Just a reminder, there is no such thing as a flushable wipe. Unless you have a septic system, then flush all you like and see how that turns out for you.

The fact that these continue to be marketed as "flushable" only gets more and more unbearable.

There should be a class action lawsuit *against* marketing on this.

Exactly these things and anything like it are not flushable even though the packaging says you can flush it. My sister didn't throw the wipes away and flushed them well. She had to end up getting a plumber to clean the whole sewer line through the house. She found out the hard way sewer was coming up in her sinks and everything. So now she puts the plastic bags next to the toilet and throws them in that ties it up and throws it in the real garbage. I hope this helps somewhere. It's a very gross and expensive situation to have your sewer pipe back up

The pro slickdeals move is to not flush wipes as to avoid dummy-big plumber fees.

What happens is that they snag on irregularities in concrete pipes which increases the risk of accumulation of matter (including more wipes) that could eventually clog a sewer line. If you use them sparingly (not using them in lieu of toilet paper for example), that risk is not very high.

The cumulative effect of them in wastewater systems is significant though; they clog pumps, restrict flow, get caught in weirs and plug up wet wells. That's where it gets costly, especially in sanitary systems (systems that do not accept rain/stormwater, which is most of the US outside of the northern tier) because the amount of water in the conveyance system is relatively low compared to the things that are, well, not water.

Give this [amazon.com] a go. I don't use mine for travel, so I glued mine assembled so it won't come undone.

Sounds more like a public health issue than a personal choice issue... Wonder why these haven't been banned yet

Flushed these for 25+ years in the same house never had a problem. Leave them in a toilet in a few minutes they will become a flaky moosh.

I dont know how others are using these, but it seems they are using them has primary wipes and flushing multiple down the toilet, which can lead to blocking. Some basics on wiping as I think many people have no idea. USe regular toilet paper for initial two wipes. Use ONE wet wipe to clean up. I fold and use the same wet wipe again. I also have been using these for over a decade and never had any problems.
