Grabbed a different version of the deal with just a single 2.0Ah battery and no charger for 79.99 like 2 weeks ago. Gonna return that and grab this instead. Much better deal.

How is this thing? Acceptable? I'm not looking to do fine woodworking. Just plane down studs and joists which are too high. I have a corded Bosch but… cords.

Same! But I don't need nearly the amount of batteries that I have...

I've used mine a lot more than I thought I would. Wish there were a different tool attached, because I could use a couple more batteries and don't need a second planer.

Look at the 3/8 ratchet deal on the front page for a battery deal with a different tool

Acceptable. Needed something to plane down fencing, doors. Without this I would use a belt sander, but that makes a lot of dust whereas this is faster and its wood chips which is easier to clean up.

I used it to level osb subfloor where the boards meet, before laying down LVP. Made quick and easy work.

OMG. I have 2 corded ones and I didn't think of using either for this situation in a doublewide river house I put LVP. Ugh. I used a gazillion wedges stapled down before putting down some 1/8" underlayment.

I have waaay too many batteries now, but... cordless. I've had the cord catch when not paying attention on actual doors and had issues. I can pass on some batteries I think.

I had to put letters on each battery with a silver sharpie to keep track of them. I still don't know where they all are

I like this video for showing how to adjust the blades on this or any electric hand planer and he even mods the chip chute to be more effective.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_...LL&index=3

Also, like a router, a sharp blade is key. You can buy packs on Amazon or Harbor Freight and they come in HSS or carbide. Carbide is more durable but can chip easier while HSS dulls quicker.
