Could that possibly be because SD Staff constantly bump their own threads and (very likely) inflate the ratings of other threads posted by Staffers? Is it possible that what ends up on the front page is sometimes artificially influenced by what is most profitable for SD, as opposed to what deals are simply 'best'?
