Looking for something to improve spotty signal to my detached garage, but reviews for this on Amazon are mixed. Any personal experience?

I have the MR60 and have had no issues at all in well over a year.

Can this be flashed? I got the Woot! Linksys deal but ran into issues installing OpenWRT.

Have you tried DD-WRT? I hear they are more stable on that model at the moment.

I don't have this model, but I have installed 2 of this model "Netgear MK72-100NAR Nighthawk AX1800". It has only ROUTER + 1 SATELLITE. This model has 2 SATELLITES. I installed MK72 AX1800 for my brother and sister house. My sister's house has a detached garage like your house. From the living room to her detached garage is about 40 to 50 feet. She never have a good WIFI signal before. Not until I install for her MK72 AX1800 model. I put the ROUTER in her bedroom and the SATELLITE in her living room. Now, she have a GOOD STRONG signal in her detached garage.

In my brother's house, the ROUTER in living room and the SATELLITE about 30 feet from the ROUTER at the entrance. I sit in my car park 50 feet away from the SATELLITE, and the signal almost perfect. I brought mine BRAND NEW, but this one is REFURBISHED. So I hope you got luck.

I posted a deal Netgear MK72 AX1800 here last year:

Oh. Really? I was under the impression it was the other way around. I'll have to give it a spin this weekend. Thank.

How does this compare to the LN1301 / MX4300 deal (other than having even less ports).

DD-WRT does not show this model is supported on their website, do you have a link?

Just for clarity I was referring to the linksys woot deal (LN1301) in another thread but here is the link for compatibility for that router I found.

These should be an easier to set up mesh experience out of the box but the LN1301 technically has much better specs.

I bought two of the LN1301. First one I tried to flash OpenWRT, but didn't give me a GUI after it rebooted. Second one I tried DD-WRT and got it up and running with no issues. When I have time, I'll go back and tinker with the first one.

This is not triband.

If you are running cables to all your nodes then it's okay, but for an all wireless network this will get subpar performance compared to the triband(Linksys deal).

Also with Linksys one can easily run mesh with stock ln1301 firmware for now. Considering the number of nodes dumped recently in a couple of months when the open source firmware becomes more stable you can switch to it.

Took a chance as this is 47.00 on EBay now . Figured it might be useful at home.
