The big question is, do you have to manually cancel the line in a year or is it automatic?

at the end of the terms and conditions it says:

'Auto Pay required'

Auto pay required for Spectrum Mobile or Spectrum Internet?

I already have Spectrum Internet/cable tv and just pay it every month by the due date, but I have different amounts every month for my bill so I don't sign up for Auto Pay.

Is Spectrum Mobile billed separately from Internet/ cable tv bill or is it on same account when you login to your account or on my Spectrum app?

If Auto Pay is required for Internet/cable TV in order to get this free mobile line offer then this would be a deal breaker.
Autopay is to just have ur payment card on file. U can always pay it before the due date with other payment method if u have to.

When I've called in to Spectrum for the retentions dept to try and get a better deal on my home internet, they offered to include this as part of the deal. Last summer I was paying $85 for home internet (after 10 years of it going up every year). I called them and told them I was going to switch to T-Mobile Home and they offered to give me the new user price ($55) and upgrade me to the higher tier plan, and also through in 1 free year of Spectrum Mobile. I ended up giving it to my 12 year old. Then this summer, called again and they renewed my lower price and gave me another free year. Only catch was it had to be a new phone number and they couldn't port the old number. But the service is good in LA area.
In the LA area also. I second this. I called to leave Spectrum too, got my price down from $85 to $60 (now i'm jealous of you). After that the retention department tried to offer me a free unlimited phone plan for a year. They even waived the activation fees and everything so it was $0. I just started this a month ago but so far it's been working well. I left Mint for this free plan but good to know I can just talk to them in another year. I use Google Voice anyway so my real phone number is barely known so I don't have ties to the actual number after the year is up.

Enrollment in auto-pay is required for the promo, would think the whole idea for them is to keep customers through month 13 and beyond.

When I signed up it asked if I also wanted to enroll in auto-pay for my Spectrum Internet plan. I declined.

when spectrum ships you the sim for this free plan for an iPhone 12 for example is it better to use just the sim or better to enable the E-Sim?

edit: this is a recently unlocked iPhone 12 from Straight Talk if it matters with no service currently.

how do you actually sign up for this? I goto bring my own device and when I enter my IMEI to check compatibility and get to check out, it asks me to pick a plan, the cheapest being 'by the gig' which is $20/month...

I used unlocked Samsung galaxy s20 on Spectrum before. Great service in TX, because they use Verizon towers.

damn, i'm in the LA area too, and they didn't offer me another free year when i canceled my first free year of mobile.

my spectrum free line ended march 2024.

i barely used the data anyway. I dunno how people use 30gb on a phone.

Sign into your Spectrum acct, on left side click Services, then select the Mobile tab, and a banner will show up saying 1 yr free mobile for Internet subscribers.
