Just call and say you want to cancel. Say that you aren't happy with the price you're paying. They should try and transfer you to the retentions dept which seems to have much more power to offer deals and usually it's a US based call center. Both times I've done this they have been extremely helpful and willing to call me back to discuss any issues (and you'll actually speak to the same person).

Tell them that the service is ok but that it's way more expensive than other options (doesn't hurt to actually try and find some competitor prices in your area) and if they could help instead. They know the deal. You don't have to trick them. Staying with Spectrum at a lower price is better than losing you as an existing customer.
This most likely to work if there is another competitor that services in the area. Here, either Spectrum or ATT at 50 Mpbs for $75. So they have no incentive to give out discount.

I have this deal right now. I am guessing there is zero chance of ever getting it again after the 12 months are over?
You'll need to port the line out, cancel the plan, wait 2-3 months and the offer should reappear on your account (provided it is still being run)

so basically, if you want to get this deal and keep the same number, you can use another provider for 2-3 months and then after that time, port it in to Spectrum and take advantage of the deal again? How did you find out about the 2-3 month amount from?

how about getting a new number with Spectrum? you can just cancel the original free 12 month promo and get a new free 12 month promo for free if you choose to get a new number with them?

I got the free line last month, plus the Pixel 9 Pro XL with $500 and $121 trade-in value for my iPhone SE (2020). It was a good deal and totally worth it. Think I paid $63 tax, so it ends up costing me $541 out of pocket, but it's financed so I end up paying only $13.33/month until I decide I want to unlock the phone for selling.

Spectrum gave me $20 per month for 300mbps for 24 months already and now they are going to charge me $34 per month for 12 months for 400mbps. That's the best they can do for me, but now I found out about 1 year free cell phone service, so I jumped to get this deal today.

where it asks who is this device for? I put in my name and it's says I've used this name before. I opened a new line to get the s23ultra deal last year. Anyone just put in another name.. any issues setting it up with another name?

Tello port out to Spectrum for this deal datapoint here

Have Spectrum as "bundle apartment" package so don't even pay them directly BUT had to set up account to get the cable box, which also lets me in on this deal as well as the free S24 deal promo from earlier this year

To get the totally free line was pretty staightforward: log in, confirm identity, add the 0 plan to cart. I screenshot everything

I have Tello currently, which I like a lot. But free is free, and unlimited is unlimited. Put in IMEI of my unlocked Pixel 9 and it accepted it. Said "other/not listed" for carrier because Tello not listed

Checked out. Didn't realize it'd do this, but my Tello service immediately got cut off

Got email from Spectrum about order. Logged in to Spectrum account via app to do the activation process. Had me get port out account number and PIN (found on Tello website easily)

Took maybe 5 minutes for port out process, Spectrum had progress bar and all. Once successful, I was told to remove old SIM, so I erased that Tello esim. Then got push notification to install new Spectrum SIM

Worked like a charm, overall. Very pleased!

Will transfer back to Tello in a year (which is also very easy to do!)
So after trying out Spectrum in a bunch of places in city center area of my major city in Texas, definitely huge variability in speeds

Did indeed get 0.5 mbps upload in some places on LTE. With LTE in other, got 60 mpbs up. 5G I avoid on my Pixel but will keep testing

My fear at first was that I'd been throttled because I got only 10 mpbs down and 1.0, if that, up. But it's not the case that I was throttled

All in all, it's not bad for free service. And unlimited too, though I never got over 1 or 2 GB a month on Tello

I'm not sure how good Verizon is in my area. (Currently all my phones are TM) If I apply and later don't like the service will I be able to port the number out?
