This is in wisconsin which is 70 miles speed limit. So even if you have a radar detector, if your being respectful and does not have a bad driving history, you might get a break. So I believe its not because you have a detector but its your driving record and interaction. Of course if the patrolman is not a bad one.

R4 is good enough but without an arrow. The thing is, when Ra beeps, even with the arrow, are you still speeding?

Right on...still have my escort passport 8500 😄.still works but no longer speed anyways as moatly do 5 10mph over!

I have the R3, was only like 150 at the time. Works great. Would upgrade if this came down in the 250 range, but honestly the R3 is all you need

I have'nt gotten a ticket in over 20 years. I bought a detector and got a ticket....found myself paying more attention to the detector than my surroundings. Sold detector and back to paying attention to my surroundings.

This is a great price. Had mine since launch and its been worth every penny. The great thing about these higher end detectors is that they hold their value year after year. RIP M. Valentine for pioneering the arrows.

Escort/uniden have a rebuild program and will replace the screen, buttons, housing, etc.. Not the cheapest but cheaper than new.

r8 with the r8 app and Waze pretty much covers you well enough to speed but remember its state dependent. As a NY resident, they use KA band and this radar gives you enough time even going 80 mph and above. The app is essential for filtering because I live in the city. I bought the whole package, the mirror tap and blend mount. It's annoying to keep taking off the suction cups everytime i park. I spent close to $1000 for the whole package and I'll still do it again. I haven't had a speeding ticket for over a decade. I had the r3 and the escort passport before this and I love to speed. I drive a BMW. Remember, it doesn't cover laser, but it seems like laser cops are well covered with waze.

Is woot an authorized reseller? Don't see them listed so not sure about warranty. Of course Woot is owned by Amazon but not sure if Uniden will accept it.
